In 2017, the Muz-TV channel, after a 20-year hiatus, started showing the musical show "New Star Factory", where Ksenia Sobchak acted as the host and the Honored Composer of the Russian Federation Viktor Drobysh was the producer. The "Songs" show on TNT was released in early 2019. The participants had to compete for a contract with a famous music producer and a cash prize of 5 million rubles. The winner will be determined at the end of the program, he will get a great chance to perform under the Black Star label Timati or Gazgolder of rapper Basta (Vasily Vakulenko).

Having learned about the casting, Ksenia, without hesitation for a second, applied for the show.
