Kygo tried his hand at different professions before finding a vocation in music. The Norwegian DJ managed to become famous all over the world thanks to his original sound and collaboration with popular performers.

Kirre Gorwell-Dahl (Kygo) was born on September 11, 1991 in the Republic of Singapore. The boy's mother was a dentist, and his father worked in the maritime industry and from childhood instilled in his son a love of travel. Even in the early years of his biography, he managed to visit Brazil, Japan and Egypt, but soon the family settled in Norway.

As a child, Kirre became interested in playing the piano, at which he could sit for hours, honing his skills. But in high school, he decided to quit his studies, and then became interested in making music on a MIDI keyboard. The young man learned everything himself, watching the lessons on YouTube.

After graduating from school, Gorwell-Dahl went to serve in the Norwegian army, where he was a firefighter at a naval base. During the breaks, he continued to develop his DJ skills, and after returning, he began to share his work on the social network.

The Cloud Nine album was released in the spring of 2016 and was enthusiastically received by fans, which allowed it to rise to 1st place in the Norwegian rankings. The next year the DJ began with a collaboration with singer Selena Gomez, with whom he recorded the track It Ain't Me. The composition quickly topped the music charts, and the video gained millions of views on YouTube. No less successful was the collaboration with Ellie Golding, which gave fans the hit First Time.

Soon Kirre's discography was replenished with the 2nd album Kids in Love, after which the performer gave a series of concerts in support of the release and performed at the Bosco Fresh Fest festival in Moscow. After returning from touring in 2018, Kygo announced a collaboration with Imagine Dragons. In June, the artists released the song Born to Be Yours, which has gained particular popularity in Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.

2019 was also fruitful for the star. The hit Carry On, recorded with Rita Ora, became the soundtrack for the movie Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Gorvell-Dahl also presented the 1st Norwegian single, Kem kan eg ringe, and remixed Whitney Houston's Higher Love. The release was noted in the music ratings of several countries and received platinum certification.

In January 2020, the DJ presented an enlarged version of the previously unfinished track Avicii Forever Yours, on which he began work with the consent of the family of the deceased musician. Now Kirre continues to create, he maintains pages on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, where he shares news and publishes photos.
