Biography
Decl is a pioneer and bright star of the fashionable musical direction of rap, which flashed brightly in the early 2000s. Decl is remembered by music lovers as a rapper and hip-hop singer. The artist left young, but left a bright medium in the history of Russian music.
Kirill Tolmatsky - this is the real name of the performer and musician, was born in Moscow in July 1983. The activities of his father had a decisive influence on the fate of the guy. Alexander Tolmatsky is a famous producer. Kirill belonged to the "golden youth" of Moscow. He graduated from the prestigious "British International School" in the capital and went to continue his education in Switzerland.
It was there that Tolmatsky Jr. got acquainted with a new direction in music for him - rap. This kind of music was listened to all day long by a neighbor in the student's room, Kirill, who turned out to be the son of the President of Zambia. At first, the future star of Russian rap, this music seemed a real cacophony of sounds. At some point, irritation reached a peak, and Kirill asked to settle him with a noisy neighbor.
Upon his return to Moscow, Kirill suddenly realized that he was sorely lacking in music that was so boring in Switzerland. He decided to try to reproduce it on his own.

Music
Tolmatsky Jr. did dreadlocks and learned to dance break dance. At the break dance school, the young man also met another famous rapper in the future Timati, but a strong friendship between the musicians did not work out. Soon, with the support of his father, the son recorded his first rapper composition "Friday", with which he debuted at the youth festival "Adidas Street Ball Challenge". The crowd of thousands warmly received the unusual and bright performer.
In 1999, Decl's face - such a creative pseudonym was invented by a guy - appeared on the cover of the Ptyuch edition. From that moment on, a real hysteria began around the name of the musician. Some he and his work insanely annoyed. Others turned out to be real Decl fans. And such was the whole army.
Decl appeared on the TV screen more and more often. His fame grew rapidly. In 2000, his debut album, Who? you". The singer received the first prestigious Record 2000 for him and was named the best debutant of the year. Clips were recorded on his compositions "Party", "Tears" ("My Tears, My Sorrow"), "My Blood, Blood". The songs became hits and hit the airwaves.
The first disc sold in a million copies. It was followed by a second one called "Street Fighter". He was also incredibly successful and brought Decl the next awards - "Stopud hit", "Muz-TV" and "MTV Music Awards".
This album is called the most scandalous in the artist's creative biography. The songs included in the disc touch on international issues and concern people from different classes and strata of society. At the same time, the rapper wrote most of the songs himself. The CD was produced by Sheff and Legalize.
The song "Letter", released on this disc, received in 2001 the prestigious Golden Gramophone music award. It was the peak of popularity. But then the decline began. This happened after a falling out with his father, who all this time supported his son on the wave of success.
In the same starry year for Decl in 2000, he signed a lucrative contract with the Pepsi company. The performer often performed at her promotions and concerts. It is interesting that later the name of the musician will be associated with this company. On information resources, Decl is still described as a hip-hop icon of the "Pepsi generation".
Due to a conflict with his father, Kirill left his record company. But independent activity did not bring glory. The musician made an attempt to change his creative pseudonym from Decl to Le Truk. In 2004, the musician released his new disc called "Detsla.ka Le Truk". Some songs became hits, but the former popularity was gone. The idea of switching to a new stage name was also not crowned with success.
The most popular and scandalous composition was the song "Legalize". But the scandalous subtext, along with the attracted attention, prevented the composition from achieving success in rotation. The animated video for this song was completely banned from showing due to the ambiguous and provocative content.
In the winter of 2008, Decl's new album was released, on the cover of which the artist's name was turned into “Decl”. The social orientation of this disc called "Mos Vegas 2012" drew attention to itself. The album was recorded with the musician Beat-Maker-Beat from St. Petersburg and was quite warmly received, although there was no question of national love.
The 5th album, Here and Now, released in 2010, did not correct the situation either. But thanks to the new disc, Kirill performed at the popular Battle of the Capitals festival, where before that he appeared only as a member of the jury.
In 2014, Decl released two new discs, recorded together with musicians from America, Europe and Asia. The records are called "Dancehall Mania" and "MXXXIII". These are the planned 2 albums from the trilogy titled "Decillion". After that, Decl's fans received the announcement of the third disc, which, according to the musician's promises, should be in Russian, unlike the first two discs of the trilogy.
Despite the fact that a number of songs from the upcoming disc have already appeared in rotation, Decl interrupted work on the trilogy and released a separate disc "Favela Funk EP".
The songs on this disc are presented in a mixed genre: the compositions are endowed with features of rap, funk and even samba and reggae. According to music critics, the contents of the album live up to the title, and also show what success Decl could have achieved without being afraid to experiment. The compositions, which the musician has selected for the new disc, carry humanistic ideas, and also cite the musician's youthful hits.
fact
Scandal with Basta
In 2016, Decl filed a lawsuit against a colleague, rapper Vasily Vakulenko, who is familiar to fans under the pseudonym Basta. The claim was registered by the Basmanny Court of Moscow.
The Internet conflict between musicians on social networks led to the court. In his own Twitter account, Decl complained to subscribers that too loud music was playing in the Basta club. In response, also in the Twitter microblogging service, Basta simply insulted Tolmatsky.
Decl decided to bring the conflict into the legal field. Kirill Tolmatsky demanded a million rubles in compensation for moral damage, and also oblige Vasily Vakulenko to publish a refutation of the information that he spreads on social networks.
By mid-2017, Decl filed four more lawsuits against the offender. After a litigation began between the musicians, Basta did not stop publishing insulting posts about Decl. As a result, Kirill Tolmatsky filed a separate claim for each case of insult and demanded compensation of a million rubles for each, but received only 350 thousand.
fact
Personal life
In the early 2000s, the rapper's persona received unprecedented attention. Decl's personal life aroused great interest. The popular performer was hunted by armies of fans and paparazzi.
As you know, Kirill Tolmatsky was married. The musician's wife is a former model from Nizhny Novgorod, Yulia Kiseleva. In 2005, the couple had a son, whose parents named Anthony.
Not so long ago, a reconciliation took place between father and son Tolmatsky, after which Kirill said that the quarrel and conflict were in fact invented by the journalists.
