Khalid was born on July 15, 1993 in the village of Igali, Gumbetovsky district, Dagestan. The father of the future fighter, Askhabali Murtazaliev, taught his son to sports and a healthy lifestyle from childhood. When the boy grew up, the man took him to the kyokushinkai karate section.

The child began to enthusiastically engage in his favorite sport and soon took part in junior and youth competitions. Also, the young man tried himself in freestyle wrestling, wushu and even football, has victories in tournaments - the championship of the Southern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District in Kyokushinkai-karate, the Rostov Region championship in grappling.

After graduating from school in his native Dagestan, the guy moved to Rostov. Here he entered the law faculty of the Rostov Institute of Economics and Law. At one of the university events, Khalid met a young coach Magomed Shikhshabekov, a former successful MMA fighter, who invited him to his Legion sports club. Here the fighter's ascent to the heights of professional sports began.

Khalid held his first professional fight in his fighting biography in 2013 as part of the selection for the third season of the reality show M-1 Fighter: his knockout of fighter Alexei Gorbatyuk in the first round impressed the jury, and Khalid was among the 15 participants in the TV show. And six months later, the 20-year-old Dagestani became the absolute winner of the M-1 Fighter-3. Experts called his victory in the semifinal match with the titled fighter Magomed Musaev a sensation. In 2015, Khalid plays for the Moscow club "Fortress". On September 15, 2018, an unprecedented event took place in Russia - the first ever mixed martial arts tournament under the auspices of the international UFC promotion. For one evening, 12 world-famous fighters came to Moscow to fight with Russian athletes, each in its own category, as part of the UFC Fight Night Moscow.

Initially, Omari Akhmedov was announced from Russia for the fight in the middle weight category against the American C.B Dolloway, who withdrew the candidacy due to injury; his replacement Artyom Frolov was also injured on the eve of an important fight. In the battle with UFC veteran CB Dolloway, by the end of the first round, Khalid took a dominant position, but referee Dean Herb did not stop the fight for a long time, which angered the American himself, experts, and the crowd of fans. As a result, the fight was stopped after the 2nd round, when the Dagestani sent Dolloway to a TKO.
