Biography
Kevin Costner, the result of a learned mixture (he is of German, Irish and Cherokee origin) first undertook marketing studies at California State University in Fullerton, during which he decided to take drama lessons. He graduated in 1978 and married his college mate Cindy Silva. A meeting with Richard Burton in an airport is decisive and motivates him to leave his job to go to Hollywood.
His beginnings in the middle of the seventh art are very difficult. His first film, Sizzle Beach, shot in 1974, will not have the honors of a theatrical release until 1986. It was not until 1984 that fate knocked on Kevin Costner's door: he shot in Une Bringue d hell, a nice success of esteem, giving him the opportunity to meet the filmmaker Kevin Reynolds, who will become a real accomplice. He then moves on to the western Silverado, a genre that will occupy a prominent place in his career.

In 1991, Kevin Costner chose to play, under the direction of his friend Kevin Reynolds, a certain Robin Hood, prince of thieves. The same year, he took the lead role of JFK, directed by Oliver Stone. Chaining the successes, he is then an unforgettable Bodyguard then turns under the direction of Clint Eastwood in A perfect world. In 1994, he collaborated again with Reynolds for the needs of the ambitious film of SF Waterworld (175 million dollars of budget) which achieved a disappointing score at the box office. But the worst is yet to come: his second achievement, Postman (1997), brought in only 20 million dollars in the world while it cost 80 ...
Kevin Costner then has to face a more difficult period: his following films For the love of the game (1999) and Destination: Graceland (2001) do not meet with the public's favor. In 2004, he was reborn by returning to directing with the western Open Range, which met with a very favorable reception from the critics. But the actor struggles to return to success and multiplies failures like the Benefits of Anger, Coast Guards and Mr. Brooks who go relatively unnoticed.
Still present, Kevin Costner, however, delivers a moving performance of generous entrepreneur in The Company Men in 2011 before playing Superman's father in the lucrative blockbuster Man of Steel in 2013. That same year, he received an honorary César for his entire career. Active at the level of blockbusters, the actor connects three action films: 3 Days to Kill (2014), The Ryan Initiative (id.) And Criminal (2016).
