Biography
Katherine Evelyn Anita Cassidy has always been in the show business. Her mother, Sherry Williams, is a model and her father, David Cassidy, a famous pop singer of the 1970s. So much so that the young girl is a real touch to everything. At school, she tried her hand at gymnastics, the piano, the guitar, dance and took acting lessons. She promises her parents not to start acting seriously until she finishes her studies.
It was therefore at the age of 18 that Katie Cassidy began her career. The small screen first offers him secondary roles. In 2004, she played Zoe, Martin's girlfriend, in the family series 7 at Home. The following year, she appeared in Sex, Love & Secrets, a show about the life of a group of thirty-something friends. The actress then tries her hand at the cinema. After an appearance in two thrillers (Terror on the Line, Black Christmas), she stood out in Click: Remote Control Your Life, a fantasy comedy in which she played the daughter of Adam Sandler.
Katie Cassidy became known to the general public in 2007, when she joined the third season of the CW series, Supernatural. The actress is called in support with her colleague Lauren Cohan to feminize the show and bring a new dynamic. A year later, we find her on the big screen in the Franco-American film Taken, with Liam Neesson (Schindler's List) and Famke Janssen (X-Men). She is Maggie Grace's best friend there.
Television gave her a chance again in 2009 as the actress took part in two new series: Harper's Island, a horror show in which her character, Trish Wellington, got married on an island already marked by bloody murders; and especially Melrose Place, New Generation. In this sequel to the cult 1990s series, she brilliantly plays the plague Ella Simms, a type of role she will reprise in Gossip Girl with the devious Juliet Sharp, Serena's nemesis.
After her participation in the romantic comedy Bienvenue à Monte-Carlo, where she gives the reply to two teenage icons Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), Katie Cassidy becomes in 2012 one of the headliners of the new series of the CW, Arrow. In this television adaptation of the DC Comics franchise , she plays Dinah Laurel Lance, the former girlfriend of the Green Archer.
