Biography
A student at the University of Maryland then at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, Karen Allen made her debut on the big screen in 1978 in American College, a comedy by John Landis. A year later, she landed a small role in Woody Allen's Manhattan, before appearing in William Friedkin's Cruising (1980).
It was in 1981 and in front of Steven Spielberg's camera that Karren Allen revealed himself to the general public, with his role as Marion, former girlfriend of Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. New role in 1984 with Starman by John Carpenter, where the actress plays the captive then friend of the alien Jeff Bridges. Follow Terminus alongside Johnny Hallyday (1986) and Fantomes en fete by Richard Donner (1988),
Rarer on the big screen in the 90s due to theatrical activity and the birth of her son, Karen Allen appeared in Malcolm X in 1992, then in King of the Hill by Steven Soderbergh a year later. In 2000, the actress starred in the blockbuster In full storm, before turning to the independent and multi-awarded drama In the bedroom in 2001.
