Biography
A graduate in economics and marketing, José Pablo Cantillo began his acting career in 2002, in the series New York: Criminal Section. Two years later, it was in the thriller A Crime in the Head, where he only made one appearance, that we saw him for the first time on the big screen.
If the actor multiplies the brief participations in several series (Proof in support, Emergencies, Nip / Tuck), he still obtains some recurring roles, like that of the FBI inspector, Duff Gonzalez, in the unique Standoff season: The Negotiators (2006) and that of Hector Salazar, former leader of the Calaveras bikers, in season 3 of Sons of Anarchy (2010). In 2013, he joined the cast of season 3 The Walking Dead and faced Rick as Caesar Martinez, a member of the Governor's community.
Subscribed to supporting roles in thrillers or action films, José Pablo Cantillo appears, among others, as an inmate in Shackles (2005), as a poisoner of Jason Statham in Hyper tension (2006), as a policeman in Paranoiak ( 2007) and Streets of Blood (2009) or as a mercenary in the futuristic Elysium.
In 2015, he reunited with director Neill Blomkamp, who directed him in Chappie. José Pablo Cantillo plays Yankie, a member of the team of scientist Deon Wilson who creates the robot Chappie, endowed with feelings and the ability to think for himself.
