Biography
It was at the age of five, attending the performance of the play Oliver in the company of his parents, that Jonathan Bailey discovered a vocation for the theater. A precocious actor, he was hired at the age of six by the Royal Shakespeare Company, which offered him the opportunity to deliver his first lines, with the famous A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. In the following years, he repeated the experience, with among others Shakespearean classics such as The Life and Death of King John and Othello .
Clearly more active on the stage, the little comedian then went on to British screens through several television series, such as Bramwell, the soap opera Doctors, and especially the children's comedy Groove High . He is also known for playing Leonardo da Vinci in the eponymous series, and for his role as journalist Oliver Stevens, in the hit series Broadchurch.
In the cinema, we see him for the first time in 2004, in the adaptation of the novel A Funny Fairy (renamed Five Children and Me), where he plays Cyril, a mischievous young boy who meets a creature in even to grant all his wishes. In 2007, it is found in St Trinian's: Boarding school for young girls.
