Biography
Born in Kentucky, Jennifer Carpenter showed her taste for the theater very early on. With this in mind, she joined the famous Juilliard School in New York. Before graduation, the young actress appeared on the stage alongside big names like Liam Neeson and Laura Linney in the essential play "The Witches of Salem".
Jennifer plays her first major character in the distressing The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005). She is then chosen to slip into the skin of police lieutenant Debra Morgan, the sister of the famous serial killer Dexter (played by Michael C. Hall who becomes her husband from late 2008 to late 2011). The second main character of this successful series, the actress gains, through this cult role, a strong and sudden notoriety.
At the same time as this series, which takes up most of her time, Jennifer shoots for the cinema, focusing on horror films (In Quarantine) and especially thrillers (The Pact, Disappeared, The Factory).
