Biography
Jaume Collet-Serra is a Spanish director and producer. Influenced by the films of David Fincher or Spike Jonze, he left Spain for Los Angeles at the age of 18, where he had the ambition to become a director. The young man begins by getting his hands on it through commercials and video clips.
In 2005, producer Joel Silver gave him a chance and hired him to direct the horrific and not at all shameful The House of Wax. He then returned to Spain in 2007 to shoot Goal II the consecration. Two years later, he tackles a horror film again with Esther.
Jaume then changes genre of film. This is how he directs Irishman Liam Neeson in three action thrillers. A first time in Without Identity, a second in Non-Stop, which takes place behind closed doors in a plane, and a third in Night Run where the actor tries to protect his son whose head is being put to the price by the mafia.
In 2016, Jaume Collet-Serra delivers the agonizing Survival Instinct - The Shallows in which surfer Blake Lively finds herself confronted by a great white shark who seeks to devour her. The following year, he reunites with his favorite actor Liam Neeson for the needs of the action thriller The Passenger, which this time takes place in a train.
