Biography
Originally from San Diego, Jamie Clayton moved to New York at 19, with the ambition of becoming a professional makeup artist. In 2010, it was as a transgender woman that she co-hosted the makeover show " TRANSform me" , produced and presented by Laverne Cox. The following year, her performance for two episodes of Hung, in the role of Kyla, a character also openly trans, is acclaimed. During the third season, she is one of the clients of the protagonist gigolo Ray (Thomas Jane).
Jamie Clayton subsequently joined the crime scene clean-up team in the " Dirty Work" web series., and connects appearances on the small screen. In 2015, she landed the role of Nomi Marks, blogger and transgender hacker from San Francisco, who discovered a mental connection with seven other people around the world, in Sense8. This Netflix production, created by Lily and Lana Wachowski, allows the actress to gain visibility, and, through a message of tolerance and love, proudly defend the transgender community. Between the two seasons, Jamie Clayton appears in the cast of the very controversial The Neon Demon by Nicolas Winding Refn, in the shoes of a casting director. In 2017, she joined the five-star cast of thriller The Snowman, including Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg and JK Simmons.
