Iveta Mukuchan

Iveta Mukuchyan is an Armenian singer, actress and model. She represented Armenia at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in the capital of Sweden.

Iveta was born in Yerevan. But when the Soviet Union collapsed and international borders opened, the parents decided to emigrate. The family moved to Germany, where the girl lived from the age of six.

There she was educated at a Catholic school in Hamburg and began to earn good money by participating in advertising photo shoots as a model. By the way, the singer has a younger sister, Marianne, who is a stylist and beautician.

But in 2009, 23-year-old Iveta Mukuchyan, on the advice of loved ones, returned to Armenia on her own, where she began to study jazz-vocal at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.

In 2010, the aspiring artist takes part in the fourth season of the Armenian Superstar song contest and takes 5th place. For a singer who has been professionally engaged in vocals for only one year, this achievement can be considered very significant. This fact is confirmed by the receipt of the honorary award "Discovery of Armenia" in the same year.

Two years later, Mukuchyan went to Germany specifically to participate in the casting of the popular TV show "The Voice", or rather its German version. At blind auditions, she sings the song "Euphoria" from the repertoire of the Swedish pop diva Loreen. The judges liked Iveta's performing skills, and soul singer Xavier Curt Naidu included her in his team. The Armenian singer also passed the second stage with the help of the retro hit “Many Rivers to Cross”, but then flew out on the “Knockouts” tour.

After participating in "The Voice" Iveta Mukuchyan began recording her songs in the studio. She still has not released full-length albums, but a number of singles were released, the first of which was "Right Way to Love". This was followed by the composition "Summer Rain", in the video for which the singer recreated the atmosphere of one of the happiest Armenian holidays Vardavar.

Together with musician DJ Serzho Mukuchyan she recorded an old folk song “Ari Yar”, which translates as “Come beloved”. The modern processing of the folklore composition was a success with the audience. The romantic hit “Simple Like a Flower”, which was arranged in a jazz style, turned out to be no less popular.

Iveta also tried herself as an actress. She starred in the Armenian adventure comedy "Run or Get Married" and together with the actor and producer Mkrtich Arzumanyan was able to create an atmosphere of unobtrusive romance, which falls on the heroes not only suddenly, but also in an incredibly funny way.

In 2015, the commission considered all possible candidates and approved Iveta Mukuchyan as the representative of Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, which was held in the Swedish capital Stockholm.

At the festival, the singer presented her song "LoveWave". Iveta performed under the seventh number, which she considers lucky for herself. It is interesting that after summing up the results in the final of the competition, the Armenian vocalist also took the seventh line. The first was Jamala from Ukraine with the song "1944". The top three also included Australian Dami Im and Russian Sergey Lazarev.

Iveta Mukuchyan has not yet officially married, although on one of her pages on the social network she posted a photo in a wedding dress, which she signed with the words:
