The 2012-2013 season turned out to be quite intense for Ivan. After Altenberg he had an individual race in the Norwegian Beitostolen (1st place) and a 10 km sprint there (5th place). In addition, he took part in:

10 km sprint in Slovenia (World Cup) - 62 place; 10 km sprint in Izhevsk (Izhevsk rifle) - 11th place; individual race in Izhevsk - 2nd place; sprint in Holmenkollen - 31st place; mass start in Uvat - 1st place.

The 2013 Russian Summer Biathlon Championship brought Tcherezov 6th place and a win in the personal race. However, the coaching staff decided not to include the athlete in the Olympic team.

By 2016, Ivan Yuryevich decided to leave biathlon.
