Biography
In the art of reincarnation, Ilya Shcherbinin took Andrey Mironov and Oleg Dal as a model. The artist has not yet reached the same level of popularity; crowds of fans are not accompanied on the streets. If asked for an autograph or a joint photo, he agrees.
Ilya is philosophical about the problem of new roles. He believes that the offer will be received, if you just want it very much, the main thing is not to tell anyone about your plans out loud.
fact
Childhood and youth
Ilya was born on a summer day in 1986 in Novosibirsk. His love for art manifested itself in his early childhood, which Shcherbinin spent in the village of Togur. Not having much choice in entertainment, the boy read books all day long, and soon he himself began to write the first literary works. The village environment had a positive influence on Shcherbinin's work, and the guy even dedicated a story to the village called "Old Togur".
Ilya's talents were not limited to literature alone. In addition to reading, the boy spent his evenings watching television, where Soviet films were often shown. At first, imitating Yuri Nikulin, Shcherbinin dreamed of the profession of a clown, which would bring a smile on the faces of the audience. Later, the clown was replaced by a zoo owner and an astronaut. And then the future artist made the only right decision in this situation - he decided to connect his life with acting, which will allow him to visit any of the above roles.
Returning to his native Novosibirsk, Shcherbinin entered the local theater school at the acting department. Nevertheless, after graduation, the guy did not plan to become a theater actor. Ilya was attracted by great cinema and television, but he did not even imagine how a person from the Russian hinterland would get there. The head of the university group came to the rescue, who advised the yesterday's graduate to go to Moscow, where he could continue his education at the university of cinematography or a literary institute.
Shcherbinin really went to the capital and applied to both educational institutions. A talented young man who had an acting education behind him, he was easily enrolled in the screenwriting department at the All-Russian State University of Cinematography. And although this was not quite what Ilya, who dreamed of becoming an actor, was striving for, he decided to trust fate. Moreover, studying was easy, and scripting was a pleasure.
As a student, he made many useful acquaintances, as well as loyal friends who will support him in the future and help in his work.
The artist did not refuse literary creativity and continued to publish his stories in magazines and almanacs. "Old Togur" was even honored to be included in the long-list of the "Neformat" prize in 2008. In 2015, Ilya, together with his classmate Alexander Tyuzheny, published a collection of novellas and scripts in the book Politically Incorrect.

Movies
Ilya Shcherbinin's cinematic biography began when he was 20 years old. The debut was a cameo role in the adventure action movie about the crew of the submarine "Autonomika", so unobtrusive that the directors did not bother to indicate the name of the performer in the credits. The main roles in the film were played by Alexander Khmelnitsky, Denis Yuchenkov, Eduard Flerov.
In the melodrama "Wild Field" Shcherbinin played Panka. This film is the last project of director Mikhail Kalatozishvili, the grandson of Mikhail Kalatozov, who staged the famous film "The Cranes Are Flying" with Tatyana Samoilova and Alexei Batalov. The film about a rural doctor was awarded the Golden Eagle, prizes of the Guild of Historians of Cinema and Critics, the International Film Press Federation, and the Golden Star of the Moroccan Film Festival.
The actor was willingly invited to secondary roles or to extras, which gave him the opportunity to hone his professional skills in practice, as well as expand his acting portfolio. For 5 years of work on television, Shcherbinin's filmography was replenished with a dozen films, among which there were both films and serials. Among the latter are the drama I Come Out to Look for You, the screen version of the novel Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman and the cycle of science fiction writer Vadim Panov The Secret City.
In the film "Pechorin", based on Lermontov's "A Hero of Our Time", Ilya got one of the main roles. The film was presented at the All-Russian Festival of Visual Arts, the jury of which was headed by Dmitry Kharatyan, and in 2016 - at the First BRICS Film Festival.
The creators of the documentary series "The Romanovs" refused invitations to star artists and were looking for performers of roles, including in provincial theaters. Both external and internal similarities were required, since no plastic makeup was used and there was little time to enter the images. The film is a reconstruction of the events that happened during the 400 years of the reign of the Russian imperial house. In thin, short stature (176 cm) Shcherbinin, the directors saw Peter III.
In 2012, according to the script by Ilya Shcherbinin, the lyrical comedy "The Abkhazian Tale" ("Summer Holidays") about student friends who went on vacation to Abkhazia was filmed.
The winner of the Golden Globe, the prizes of the Cannes and Venice festivals, director Andrei Zvyagintsev involved the actor in the famous film Dislike. The author of "Little Faith" and "The Fifth Guard" Vasily Pichul invited the artist to the film about the hero of the Great Patriotic War "The Second Uprising of Spartacus". Ilya appeared in episodes of the detective “Moscow. Central District "with Alexei Gorobchenko and Vladimir Menshov, the series" Witnesses "about the agents of the fictional investigative and analytical department.
The first popularity and success for Shcherbinin was brought by the multi-part film "Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone", which was released in 2014.
The actor got to the casting thanks to his colleague Tatyana Komarova, with whom he worked in the projects "Wild Field" and "Pechorin". Director Anders Banke approved the choice of the assistant and immediately approved the guy for the role of Igor Matveyev, nicknamed Podcaster.
The image of a blogger-thief was not easy and thus hooked the artist. He played a guy who is gradually going crazy, filming his adventures on camera. Ilya not only had to play a person not in himself, but also act on the camera as a non-professional in order to reflect the lack of acting skills of the hero.
The hardest thing for the actor was to shoot a scene on the border with Ukraine. According to the script, Ilya's character knocked down a man and is filming a podcast. It was raining outside and it was cold, the actor had been on the set for a long time and, overworked, lost touch with reality, reincarnated as a character. Shcherbinin dreamed of a downed man, and the artist experienced terrible feelings from such visions.
The premiere of the series was postponed more than once, but when it took place, the project gained tremendous success. The TNT channel management decided to extend the film for the 2nd season, which was released in 2017.
fact
Personal life
Ilya is stingy with interviews, and fans collect information bit by bit about the idol's personal life. The artist met his wife Zoya Lisitsyna in mid-2013. The girl, like Shcherbinin, is a screenwriter by training. Nothing is known about the presence of children in the family. Photos of the couple occasionally appear on Ilya's page on Instagram and on VKontakte.
In some pictures, the man is depicted with long hair, and subscribers find some similarities between the actor and the young Ivan Okhlobystin.
Ilya's favorite pastime is photography and reading. The actor is interested in classics and modern literature, he has read books by John Tolkien more than once. Of his musical preferences, Shcherbinin once mentioned Russian rock, jazz, blues.
fact
Ilya Shcherbinin now
Now Ilya Shcherbinin, Kristina Kazinskaya, Valeria Dmitrieva and other members of the film crew “Chernobyl. Exclusion Zone ”are working on the third season of the film. Immediately after the end of the 2nd season, the creators of the series announced that the story had not yet come to an end and the audience was waiting for a continuation. True, there is no final answer whether the format of the series will be preserved or a full-fledged film will be released.
It is known that in the sequel the heroes will return to the events of the first part. Perhaps it will be possible to develop 4 storylines and, accordingly, 4 different endings, it is not for nothing that the main characters move with the help of a time machine, which gives the writers room for imagination. The producers promised to present the result in the fall of 2019.
