Igor Nefedov

Igor Nefedov is a Soviet film and theater actor, whose peak of popularity came in the eighties of the XX century. The artist starred in the films of Nikita Mikhalkov, Vadim Abdrashitov, Viktor Tregubovich, Rodion Nakhapetov and other famous directors of his time.

Igor Vyacheslavovich Nefedov was born in Saratov on March 23, 1960 in a creative family. From childhood, the boy decided to become an actor like his father. According to Igor's mother, Vyacheslav Nefedov and his friend Oleg Tabakov, while studying at the theater institute, were considered the most promising students of their course. The acquaintance of his parents with a famous artist helped the boy get to the first audition at the age of 13. 

It is known that the position of Tabakov in relation to the actors, whom he takes as his students, is rather tough. Only the presence of a certain amount of talent can open the door to the studio, where Oleg Pavlovich is in charge. Igor had it. The boy was taken to Tabakov's children's theater studio, and then on a course to his mentor at GITIS. Oleg Pavlovich had a great influence on the formation of the artist's personality.

Nefedov is known as one of the actors of the legendary "Snuffbox". But his first place of work was the Central Children's Theater in Moscow. There Igor went on stage for five whole years. In 1986, Nefedov's mentor finally got the opportunity to form a troupe of his best students. So Igor became an actor in the Moscow Theater Studio under the direction of Oleg Tabakov. Nefedov worked in this institution for 8 years. 

In 1993, the actor had a conflict with the theater's artistic director. As a result of a quarrel with Tabakov, Nefedov lost his role in the play "An Ordinary History", with which "Snuffbox" was supposed to go on tour to Japan. Igor was replaced by the then unknown graduate of the Moscow Art Theater Yevgeny Mironov.

Problems with the artistic director caused Nefedov's depression, relatives are sure that shortly before his death, the actor decided to leave the theater.

At the age of 25, Igor was already included in the Soviet Encyclopedia of Cinema due to the fact that he played prominent roles in several famous films that were released in the eighties. The audience remembered him for the role of Slavik in the tragicomedy "Prohindiada, or Running in Place", he also reincarnated as Gosha in Rodion Nakhapetov's film "Umbrella for the newlyweds", convincingly played the police captain Vadim Pitelnikov in the film by Sergei Ashkenazi "Criminal Talent". 

His photos were adorned with the covers of the best Soviet film magazines, he was recognized on the street and passed without a line to any place. Having felt the taste of good roles, Igor could no longer agree to the experiments of young directors. Over time, the proposals became less and less, and by the beginning of the nineties they began to forget about the actor. The last role of Nefedov was an episode in the political detective "Murder on Zhdanovskaya".

The actor was married twice. The Bolshoi Theater ballerina became his first choice. The couple lived together for about a year. The first wife left Nefedov for another man. The artist had a hard time enduring the gap and tried to hang himself out of boredom. Time healed mental wounds, and in 1987 Nefedov remarried. His wife this time was the actress Elena Kazarinova. She had a daughter from her first marriage, whom Igor raised as his own. 

The couple did not have common children, despite the young age of both spouses. After living together for 7 years, the couple decided to part for a while. The reason for the discord was the character of Nefedov, his depressive moods due to troubles in the theater strongly affected the well-being of both spouses. In November 1993, Igor moved to his mother, but continued to support his wife and daughter, called every day and often visited. After a month of such a life, the actor committed suicide.

Igor Nefedov passed away in December 1993. He was only 33 years old. The actor's cause of death is suicide. Igor hanged himself in his own entrance on a scarf. This story is remembered together with the events of 1997, when actress Elena Mayorova, Nefedov's classmate at GITIS, set herself on fire in the stairwell. A few years later, their mutual friend Yevgeny Dvorzhetsky died, and journalists again began to look for a mystical connection between the death of young actors of the same troupe.

After that incident, Igor, according to his wife, had an obsession, he threatened to hang himself after almost every quarrel. There is a version that on the day of his death, Nefedov learned that Elena Kazarinova, with whom they no longer lived together, had a new lover, which pushed him to suicide. The funeral took place at the Kotlyakovskoye cemetery in Moscow; later, Igor's wife, who died in 2013 from acute leukemia, also rested nearby.
