I Play Bass Guitar, But Our People Don't Accept It

The Story

Hello, a 14-year-old boy from Plovdiv writes to you. I have had problems with ours for a long time and that is why I am writing here. I've been playing the guitar since I was 10, and I'm currently playing bass. At first my parents thought it would be great for their son to have some kind of music education, and when I told them I wanted to buy an electric guitar they looked at me at an angle. I felt very dumb, but they bought it for me. I don't think it's about the money - my father is a legal adviser and my mother is a doctor. I played when they were gone, otherwise someone would come to the room and start talking to me "as long as you play, blow my head off". I finally asked them why they were so dumb that I played the electric guitar. They told me that with this I would join a group, start drinking and taking drugs and all this nonsense. If they don't mind, I'm currently studying at the English High School. So I promised them no, and they relaxed. After entering high school, I decided that as a gift (my success was 5. 96) they could give me a bass guitar and learn to play it. They bought it for me (with a little fuss) and I started playing. And again the old song began in a new voice - I was going to ruin my life. What should I say? I don't want to give up playing, I like it, and what's wrong?
