I see here today's young people commenting and I call myself to get involved :) I am an ex-smoker. I smoked for 14 years, between 2 and 3 packs of cigarettes a day. White victors. I smoked when the victory was 86 cents :) I have 5 attempts to quit behind me. This is a summary to know how "qualified" I am. What it's called - I have experience :) Cigarettes are harmful by creating illusions. That you have control. That we are not dependent. That you can't get addicted to something that tastes awful. The nasty thing about cigarettes is that they are a trap that clicks very quickly ... Click! The end. It is only a matter of time before you increase either the dose (number of cigarettes) or the weight of nicotine / tar. Because they are a drug. Moreover, the most common and used in the world, which is legally allowed :) The shortest definition of cigarettes is ... "sweet pain". There are only a few people who smoked a little and then did not become real chimneys (rarely, 2-3 cigarettes a day or only on occasion and with company). The scary thing is that this is a process. It may not happen right away, but it's like a black hole that grows every day. It usually takes up to about 2 years. This is not important. The important thing is that it is inevitable. I think someone needs to be an effective bridge and dispel some misconceptions .... Yes, cigarettes are fun and yes, it's an illusion. So how come then? Both are true :) I like the metaphor that accurately describes the pleasure of smoking - this pleasure is the same as taking off uncomfortable shoes that you wear all day. Well, the logical question ... why should you wear uncomfortable shoes and why should you feel this relief? You may just not have calluses and pimples :) The topic is long. In conclusion, I can tell you 2 things .... First, you are not free. You are a drug addict. I use this word because it is correct after the World Health Organization defined it as an addiction. And you know what? So what. :) First step - accept it :) A person can deal with a problem only if he understands what the problem is first :) Second, read "I don't smoke anymore" by Alan Carr. This is a book written by a man who knows what he is talking about. Because he smoked 100 cigarettes a day. And he knows it won't motivate you to quit smoking by saying it's harmful or worth the money. People know this - we are not stupid. But we smoke, don't we? :) This person will make you keep smoking. An interesting book is to know .... :) This was my last 5th attempt. Successful. :) Good luck! because it is correct after the World Health Organization has identified this as an addiction.
