Gustav Ahr, familiar to teenagers and rap fans as Lil Peep, seems to have programmed himself for a short life like a flash of lightning. The motto "Rake the money, die young" is stuffed on his brow. Gustav Ahr is an American in whose veins Irish-German blood from his mother and Swedish from his father are mixed. He was born in southern New York in the Ronkonkoma village in 1996. As a child, Gustav experienced difficulties in communicating with peers, considered them stereotypical and boring. The boy grew up withdrawn and loved loneliness, school evoked melancholy and rejection.

After the separation of his parents, the propensity for depression and melancholy doubled, the 14-year-old was expelled from college for academic failure and quarrels with classmates. The only person who understood Gustav was his mother. Lisa, an elementary school teacher, even did homework for the boy. 

Thanks to his mother, Aru was allowed to study at home and take exams on the Internet, so Gustav received his school certificate. After the divorce of his parents, Lil Peep did not communicate with his father, a professor at Harvard University, not forgiving him for betrayal. 

The idea of ​​raping and making music came in the hours of the usual depression, when a bad mood was looking for a way out. Technical savvy and creativity gave birth to the beatmaker who performed under the pseudonym Lil Peep. Gustav later admitted that his mother called "little pip". 

At first, Lil Peep rapped, but after six months he realized that he would get lost among thousands of rapper guys. Therefore, he developed his own style, mixing emo music with hip-hop, rap and trap. The aspiring musician went to computer courses and mastered music programs. The artist's work was influenced by his passion for music by the bands Blink-182, Mu Chemical Romance and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Gustav's studies were approved by his family - his mother, brother and grandmother. Their support, according to Leela Peep, helped build and self-define. At 14, the son confessed his love to his mother: on his mother's birthday, she made the first tattoo on her arm - she knocked out her date of birth and initials.

Later, the collection of tattoos on Lil Peep's body grew. The guy's "signature" tattoo is the inscription CryBaby (Crybaby) over the singer's right eyebrow. It is a tribute to the cult film of the same name of the 1990s.

The first success inspired Lil Peep to create new mixtapes: in December 2015, the performer presented Live Forever to fans, and in January of the following year, he presented the California Girls and Vertigo mixtapes. In the middle of 2016 he recorded Crybaby and Hellboy.

All compositions are thoroughly saturated with thoughts of suicide, the frailty of existence and the corruption of being. Uncomplicated texts about departed girls and drug intoxication are present in every Lil Peep composition.

The Hellboy mixtape appeared in September 2016 and consists of 16 tracks. For the song Girls there was a video exposing gender stereotypes, and in the OMFG track "Crybaby" it talks about fatigue and a desire to commit suicide.

Suicidal motives are also present in Lil Peep's Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1, introduced in 2017. The mixtape contains 7 tracks, among them the most popular tracks are Star shopping, Suck my blood and Downtown lyrics.

In June 2017, Lil Peep presented his debut album Come Over When You're Sober via Instagram and went on a tour to promote it.

With a height of 1.92 meters, Lil Peep weighed 68 kg. Bright appearance and growing popularity attracted crowds of fans to the rapper. But the guy also had enough critics. Pip got used to misunderstanding and built up his "armor" from attacks by haters, but remained vulnerable and prone to frequent depression.

The first unsuccessful love story left a deep wound in Leela's heart: after parting with a girl, the musician avoided the beauties for six years. A corresponding tattoo appeared on the rapper's stomach - the word LOVE with a sad emoticon instead of the letter "O", and on his cheek - a broken heart.

But in 2017, next to Leal, they saw a dark-haired girl, whose name - Lilah - he knocked out on the forearm. Fans saw a photo of Lil Peep's chosen one on his Instagram page. In August 2017, Gustav Ahr declared himself bisexual on Twitter.

Lil Peep has never hidden his drug addiction. Earlier on Instagram, Ar described himself as a "productive addict." 

The artist died on the night of November 16, 2017. The rapper passed away at 21. Cause of death has been attributed to an overdose of a fake sedative and the opioid analgesic fentanyl.
