First, the boys were coached by Katerina Papadakis, Gabriela's mother. The pair competed four times at the World Junior Championships, securing silver medals in 2013. After high school, the young man faced a choice: to study drawing at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon or to continue riding with Gabriela. However, the partner went with him, and the problem disappeared. They got along well from childhood, laughed at some jokes and used to understand each other without words. But the partners keep the distance between personal life and communication on the ice. They know what happens in each other's lives, but they don't discuss details.

The Olympic season was rich in gold medals. The French pair took gold at the Finnish Trophy in Espoo, in Beijing in the Grand Prix Series and at the home stage of the Grand Prix.
