Gregory Lemarchal was born on May 13, 1983 in the French city of La Tronchet. Laurence and Pierre Lemarchal became his parents. A few years after the birth of Gregory, he had a younger sister, Leslie. The future singer was an active boy, he loved to play football and basketball. His obvious musical talent was noticed by his parents since childhood, but Gregorine wanted to go to a music school and preferred sports to her.

When the boy was only 20 months old, he was diagnosed with a terrible diagnosis - cystic fibrosis, or cystic fibrosis. This is a hereditary disease that causes serious dysfunctions of the respiratory system and damage to the endocrine glands. Since childhood, Gregory periodically underwent painful sessions of antibiotic treatment and kinesitherapy. For several weeks, he had to spend two to three hours a day under a drip, when his friends played merrily and had fun in the yard.

The parents of the famous performer later said that treatment has always been the main stumbling block between them and their son. The boy did not want to undergo kinesitherapy sessions and lie under a dropper, he forgot to take inhalations, take medications, claimed that he felt much better - just to live at least a little like healthy guys of his age. However, over time, Gregory began to take a more responsible attitude towards his illness and the fight against it.

In 1995, when Lemarchal was twelve years old, he became the champion of his native country in acrobatic rock and roll. He would gladly take up football professionally, but a serious illness did not allow him to do it. And every time they tried to put the guy in a music school, he deliberately ruthlessly falsified during auditions. Therefore, from all possible types of career, he decided to choose journalism.

It is possible that after completing his studies at school, Gregory would have really become a successful sports journalist, as he decided for himself in high school, but something completely different awaited him.

On July 12, 1998, the guy agreed with his father on a fateful bet. His conditions were as follows: if the French national team is the first in the football World Cup, then during the holidays Lemarchal Jr. will perform in karaoke. That season, France really had no equal, and Gregory had to keep his promise.

At the karaoke of the small town of Argeles-sur-mer, he performed the song "Je m'voyais déjà", performed by the popular singer Charles Aznavour. Everyone who was then in the institution was fascinated by the melodic voice of the young guy. Only when strangers, strangers appreciated Gregory's vocal abilities, did he realize that he really had a singing talent. And this despite the fact that he could play notes in an impressive range of four octaves.

After that, Lemarchal realized that music should be his life's work. He was inspired by the compositions of Charles Aznavour, Celine Dion, Serge Lama. In the company of his dad, he repeatedly sang at numerous concerts and parties in his area, and very quickly gained popularity there.

In 1999, he took part in the local television competition "Tremplin des étoiles" and was featured on the television show "Graines de Stars". Music has become such an important part of the guy's life that he even dropped out of school and focused on singing lessons, improving his style of performance.

In 2003, Gregory, despite his young age, got the lead role of Adam in a musical called "Adam and Eve". The performance toured many French cities, and each performance of the artists was disrupted by a storm of applause from the audience. Soon a studio single was even recorded, in which, among other performers, Gregory Lemarchal sang his part. However, in Paris, "Adam and Eve" was not shown, and this musical did not bring the artist to the nationwide popularity.

In the same year he got one of the main roles in another musical - "Belles, belles, belles" - but the project turned out to be financially difficult, and as a result the production was canceled. Also, the young performer tried to get on the TV show "Nouvelle Star", the domestic analogue of which is the project "People's Artist". Alas, this attempt was also unsuccessful: Lemarshal simply stood for several hours in the cold and did not even get to the jury, not getting the opportunity to demonstrate his impeccable performance to strict judges.

In late 2003 - early 2004, Gregory was practically desperate. He did not succeed, he began to give up. He went to bed late at night, got up when it was already light outside for a long time, and in the evenings he had fun with his friends. The reckless and aimless lifestyle took the guy further and further from his dreams, but the complete failure of all his endeavors did not allow him to find the strength in himself to change something.

In the summer of 2004, the French project Star Academy (an analogue of the Russian Star Factory) announced a casting for the fourth season of the show. At some point, all the musicians were recruited, and there was only one place for which it was supposed to take a guy with a beautiful voice. It was then that Brice Davoli, whom Lemarchal had met in the days of Adam and Eve, and organized an audition for his friend. Naturally, the jury was amazed at the guy's vocal abilities and gladly accepted him into the show.

It began filming in September 2004 and was completed in December. Although Lemarchal's illness prevented him from keeping to the same schedule that was assigned to other artists, the organizers worked out a rehearsal schedule that was acceptable to him.

The performer worked diligently and each time amazed the audience with a sincere and piercing performance of the song. At Star Academy, the charming young singer was nicknamed "The Little Prince". His music was so incomparable that in the television project Gregory was awarded first place, while becoming the first male winner in his history.

In 2005, Lemarshal's debut disc was released, called "Je deviens moi", which translates as "I become myself." Alas, the death of the young performer soon followed made this disc the only lifetime studio work that Gregory's discography contains.

The album exploded in the French charts and sold approximately three hundred thousand copies. Confirmation of the performer's talent and success was the "Discovery of the Year" award received by Gregory at the NRJ Music Awards.

In 2006, Lemarchal went on a tour of France, and also gave several concerts in Switzerland and Belgium. In May 2006, his performances were sold out four times in the famous Parisian concert hall Olympia. The songs performed at these concerts were released on the live album "Olympia 06".

During his short career, Gregory Lemarchal managed to perform compositions in a duet with such musical masters as Lara Fabian, Michel Sardou, Andrea Bocelli, Helene Segara, Lucy Bernardoni and others. The songs recorded with them were very popular with the public.

During his lifetime, Gregory also shot clips for several of his songs: the most popular was the video for the song "My Angel".

At the end of 2006, Lemarshal's health deteriorated sharply. The development of the disease led to significant complications in the respiratory system. To survive, Gregory needed donor lungs. To alleviate the condition of the guy who was in pain, he was put into an artificial coma.

On April 30, 2007, Gregory completely unexpectedly died, leaving hundreds of thousands of "Gregorians" inconsolable all over the planet. The cause of death is all the same complications of cystic fibrosis.

The funeral of the artist took place in Chambery, in the Cathedral of St. Francis. His grave is located in the cemetery of the small town of Sonnaz, where he spent much of his childhood. Many French artists and over 5,000 fans of the performer joined the funeral procession.

In his short life, Gregory Lemarchal managed to know true love. Numerous photos show his girlfriend Karin Ferry smiling with him on the sun-drenched beach.
