Gran-kurazh

"Gran-Kurazh" is a group near Moscow that creates songs in the genres of heavy metal and power metal. The main themes of the band's music and lyrics are the memory of those who did not return from the fronts, reflections on the fate of Russia and relations between people.

The history of the creation and promotion of the group is closely connected with the city of Bronnitsy, whose population is now approaching 25 thousand people. In 1999, Mikhail Bugaev, a 17-year-old graduate of the Bronnitsk Music School, created the Kurazh ensemble at the House of Children and Youth Creativity.

In addition to the guitarist, the band's origins were keyboardist Yevgeny Komarov, drummer Sergei Volkov, and bass player Ravshan Mukhtarov. In 2001, Mukhtarov on bass was replaced by Pavel Selemenev, who plays in "Gran-Kurazh" and now, and Ravshan took part in the group as a singer for another year.

The heyday of the ensemble began in 2004 with the arrival of vocalist Mikhail Zhitnyakov, now singing in "Aria". In the same 2004, the musicians recorded the first demo of three compositions.

In 2005, Courage received the Grand Prix at the ProRok rock festival. The title of the award, legal disputes with the leader of the Kurazh group (without a firm sign at the end) Dmitry Chetvergov, and Bugaev's defense of a university diploma on the topic of Copyright, contributed to the renaming of the ensemble into Gran-Kurazh in 2007.

The musicians recorded their debut album "Eternal Game" in 2006. The collection, which included 10 songs of Bugaev and the hidden track "The Bremen Town Musicians +", was released in 2007. The name of the album was given by a line from the song "Chaos Theory", written by the author based on the movie "The Butterfly Effect" - "Eternal Game - Time to Burn to Ashes."

The second studio disc "Gran-Kurazh" "New Hope Light" was released in May 2008. The musicians shot a video for the song from the album "Late for Love".

The most spectacular video sequence accompanies the composition "If you are still alive", included in the third album "Gran-Kurazh" "Hearts in Atlantis". The tricks in the video were directed by Ilya Alayba.

The fourth album "Live like no one else", which was released in 2016, was recorded by "Gran-Kurazh" with a new vocalist Yevgeny Kolchin. The members of the ensemble raised money to record the collection through crowdfunding. In the video for the song “When I was like you”, released in 2018 for Victory Day, the group included footage from the military chronicle.

In December 2018, a new vocalist Petr Elfimov appeared in the ensemble, who represented the Republic of Belarus at Eurovision in 2009. On May 23, 2019, the group celebrated its anniversary in the Moscow club "Teatr", and in the summer took part in the festival "NASHESTVIE".

October 19, 2019 "Gran-Kurazh" played an acoustic concert at the Mezzo Forte. At the request of fans, the additional performance of the band took place on November 22 at the Alibi club.
