Biography
At the age of 2, Gillian Anderson arrived in London with her parents from Michigan. She spent her primary studies at Coleridge Primary School in Crouch End in the north of the English capital. Eleven years later, the actress returns to live with her relatives in Michigan and sees her family grow with the births of a little brother and a little sister. A student at City High School in Grand Rapids, Gillian auditions for a role in a school play. The passion she discovered for comedy swept away her original ambitions: to become a marine biologist or an archaeologist.
The period of high school confirmed in 1986, Gillian chooses to integrate DePaul Universityin Chicago, specializing in theater. At 22, with a solid theatrical training and a fine arts diploma, she set out to conquer New York to become an actress in her own right.
In 1990, she landed her first major role in the Broadway play entitled Absent Friends and her performance earned her a Theater World Award. In the process, she participated in the play The Philanthropist . Nevertheless, Anderson chooses to leave New York for Los Angeles, with the hope of making a place for himself in the 7th art.
