It's good to do your homework, but not so much. After all, with gifts you kill the spirit of Christmas, and yet these are not strangers or any children. These are the children of your husband's brother - they are supposedly close to the family. It would be embarrassing for me not to give anything to my brother's children. When I don't have that much money, I may not buy for him and his wife or just take something decorative for the house, but for the children always - they are still waiting for Christmas for the presents. Your husband will probably be embarrassed to look his brother in the eye. Nowadays, there are also quite cheap gifts: - there are children's books, which I now cut in bookstores (recently a friend bought for her daughter a book Peter Pan in scarlet with pretty nice covers and white sheets for BGN 5, and there are many others) - there are shops for cheap toys, in which a sword is for example BGN 5-6 - there are puzzles for BGN 5-6 - not those of Ravensburg, but there are also more ordinary ones - a coloring book with some pencils or fulmasters will not cost you more than BGN 5. As long as you have the desire, always you will find a way to make your loved ones happy for a little money. Basically, some time ago I was angry about the money I give on holidays, but not anymore. Now that I remember that I made people around me happy, that I bought something for my mother, knowing that she herself would never give money for such a thing, even though she wants it a lot, seeing how my nephews are happy and I see that it's just worth it. The very atmosphere of the holidays and the fact that I got together with the whole family also makes me believe that the money is worth it. We don't have to be forever material - money is earned and spent, but the memories and good moments and holidays with our loved ones remain. I'm not talking about Christmas and New Year expenses in Thailand - you don't have to throw yourself away and give a lot of money, but whatever you give is from the heart. Ana
