Biography
Gary Moore is an Irish-born guitarist, songwriter, blues rock musician.
Gary was born on April 4, 1952 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. At birth, the boy was named Robert William Gary Moore. The father of the future guitarist kept a dance parlor. Gary loved to go to shows with modern music.
At the age of 8, the boy began attending acoustic guitar lessons. Moore was naturally left-handed, but that didn't stop him from mastering the right-handed instrument. At the age of 14, his father gave Gary an electric guitar, with which he sat for hours on end, picking up the chords of his favorite hits. Elvis Presley and The Beatles became the idols of the teenager, later the young man joined the work of Jimi Hendrix and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.
Gary Moore's first musical group was called "Granny's Intentions", at the age of 16 he founded "Skid Row", which included vocalist Phil Lynott, bassist Brendan Shields, drummer Noel Bridgeman. Future graduates of the school became interested in blues-rock.
Phil Lynott soon became the leader of Thin Lizzy, and Gary formed a new group, The Gary Moore Band. With the new team, Moore recorded the first two youthful albums. But in 1973 the group disbanded and Gary moved to Thin Lizzy and then Colloseum II. Gary collaborated with the second team for 4 years, after which he returned to Phil Lynott's group.

Music
In the late 70s, Gary Moore released his second solo album, Back On The Streets, which included the hit Parisienne Walkways. The song peaked at # 8 on the national charts despite the disc's release going unnoticed. This was enough for the guitarist to try again to create his own band. The G-Force collective existed for only six months, after which Gary dismissed the musicians again.
Greg Lake's band became a new haven for the instrumentalist. At the same time, Moore did not stop his own creativity and recorded songs for the next albums "Live From The Marquee" and "Dirty Fingers" at the recording studio.
1982 was marked by a breakthrough in the musician's creative biography. On Virgin Records, Gary, along with Ian Pace, Neil Murray and Charlie Hoon, released Corridors Of Power, which peaked at # 30 in the UK. Album sales reached 250 thousand copies, and concerts were sold out. In 1983, after the vocalist left, Moore himself took on vocals.
In the mid-80s, recordings of new discs followed: "Dirty Fingers" and "Run for Cover", which already distinguished themselves at 12th place in the national chart. The 1987 album "Wild Frontier" climbed to 8th position. It was high quality music featuring world rock stars.
In 1990, the artist delighted fans with new compositions on the album "Still Got The Blues", for which Albert King, Albert Collins and Don Airey were invited. The blues period began in Moore's musical career. During this time, the musician released three compilations: "After Hours", "Around The Next Dream" and "Blues For Greeny". In 1994, Gary Moore presented the collection "Ballads & Blues", which included the best blues ballads since 1982.
In 1997, Gary Moore surprised fans with a new disc "Dark Days in Paradise", in which he radically changed his own image, completely presenting himself to the audience as a vocal performer and simplifying guitar playing. Fans were not delighted with the idol's new songs, the style of which was reminiscent of pop music.
Two years later, the musician decided to use electronic sound in the creation of new compositions, as a result of which the disc “A Different Beat” appeared. The experiment again failed to impress fans accustomed to the blues. Both albums are still controversial among fans. In Gary Moore's discography, these collections stand apart.
The next album, "Power of the Blues", appeared only in 2004. In it, Gary again returned to the familiar sound of blues rock, which delighted the fans. Two years later, "Old New Blues Ballads" followed, then the artist recorded the disc "Close As You Get", and in 2008 - the compilation "Bad For You Baby".
In 2010, Gary Moore visited Russia after touring Europe. The musician conducted a concert tour in eight cities of the Russian Federation, which, in addition to Moscow, included regional centers from Rostov-on-Don to Vladivostok. Returning to his homeland, Gary Moore released a collection of the best songs entitled "Greatest Hits", which consisted of 34 hits. Gary Moore then did not suspect that he was creating his own requiem.

Personal life
Little is known about Gary Moore's personal life. The artist preferred not to advertise close relationships and gave journalists scant information about the family.
In the 70s, the musician had an affair with a peer, as a result of which a daughter, Saoers Moore, was born. In 1985, the guitarist married Kerry Booth, who worked as a therapist. The wife gave Gary Moore two sons - Gus and Jack. In 1993, the union broke up. Both boys followed in their father's footsteps and mastered playing the guitar.
After the divorce, Gary Moore started a family with artist Joe Randle. Soon the youngest daughter of the musician was born - Lily. Later, the girl became interested in vocals. The relationship with the daughter's mother lasted 10 years.
Moore spent most of his life in a mansion in the town of Hove. According to the stories of neighbors, Gary Moore was a calm, quiet tenant, not like a rock star. In his spare time, the musician visited the local pub "Neptune", where he talked with residents of the surrounding area.
In 2009, the guitarist, surprisingly to his colleagues, was carried away by a fan from Germany Petra Nyodushevsky, who was almost two times younger than the maestro. The relationship with the girl was contradictory. Despite the constant quarrels, Gary was going to legalize his relationship with Petra. In early 2011, the couple flew to Spain on vacation.

Death
While on vacation at a hotel on the Costa del Sol in Spain, on the night of February 6, 2011, Gary Moore died of a heart attack. The artist died in a dream, after a romantic evening spent in the company of Petra. The girl was the first to find the corpse of her beloved and did everything possible to save her life, but it was too late.
The doctors who arrived at the hotel room pronounced death. An autopsy showed that the musician died of natural causes. A small amount of alcohol was found in Gary Moore's blood. The musician's friends claim that Gary has long since given up on unlimited drinking and led a relatively healthy lifestyle. The guitarist was 58 years old.
With the new darling, Gary Moore did not have time to register a relationship, so the musician's inheritance went to the children. The funeral took place on February 25, 2011 in a village near the English city of Brighton, not far from the house where the sons and youngest daughter remained.
After the musician's death, colleagues released a live album dated July 6, 2010 with Gary Moore's performance at the Montreux Festival. Later followed the publication of the collection "All the best", which included the best works performed by Gary Moore.
