The turning point in the career of Galina Vishnevskaya (at that time she had already managed to be married to a sailor, from whom she left herself a beautiful surname) was 1952. The young singer heard about the competition held by the Bolshoi Theater. Despite the fact that Vishnevskaya did not have a classical music education, she took a chance and was invited as an intern.
