Philip Kotov is a successful actor whose popularity, unlike many of his peers, is not limited to the screen. Philip Yurievich Kotov was born in Barnaul on February 8, 1989. The actor's genes were inherited by the boy: both mother and father of Philip are professional artists. In 1991, the boy and his family moved to Nizhny Novgorod. Parents got a job in the troupe of the Nizhny Novgorod Academic Drama Theater named after Maxim Gorky, and Philip - the opportunity to live as a typical "behind the scenes" child.

After the 9th grade, the future artist finally decided that he would not finish the eleven-year-old, especially since the young man had already decided on the profession by that time. Having passed the exams, Philip became a student of the acting department of the Nizhny Novgorod Theater School.

Philip received his first role and first fee at the age of 1, playing a bunny on the stage of the Barnaul theater. The five-ruble bill received for this work was framed by the parents and hung on the wall for a long time as a memory of a significant event.

The next theatrical role in the biography of Philip also happened in childhood - at the age of 6 he was on the same stage with Alexander Abdulov and Alexander Zbruev. Moreover, the child was not warned that the hero of Abdulov in one of the scenes would go to his character with a knife. The boy was terribly scared and the next day he even ended up in the hospital - the children's nervous system was too susceptible to such stress. But Philip's conscious debut was a success: after the performance, Zbruev and Abdulov even wrote a note of gratitude to his mother Elena Turkova.

If the artist had difficulties at school, then at the school he did not give himself indulgences: in order to prevent gossip about admission by pull, the young man came to study first and left last. This bore fruit - Philip graduated with honors, like his parents, and, being the best graduate, received the V.S.Sokoloverov Presidential Scholarship in Moscow.

Having received secondary vocational education in 2008, Philip wanted to continue his studies, this time at a theater university. In Moscow, the young man tried to enter the Shchukin school, and the GITIS, and the VGIK, but he failed to pass all the rounds. After receiving a scholarship, a recent graduate went to appear in the capital's theaters, but even then attempts were unsuccessful - he did not find himself in the lists of those who passed the competition.

Philip left for St. Petersburg to try to enter LGITMiK, but it turned out that the entrance tests had already ended. Before returning home, the young artist decided to stay in the Northern capital for a walk and see the city. A few days later, Philip received a call from the Taganka Theater and asked why he had not come to the 2nd round. The dumbfounded young man said that he had already been called with a refusal. To this, the head of the troupe informed Philip that he could come in September, and they would conclude a contract with him for a trial period.

The first performance, in which the actor took the stage, was "The Master and Margarita". At first, Philip played in the crowd: he was a writer, and Count Robert, and the unrepentant robber Gestas. And then the young artist got one of the leading roles - Yeshua Ha-Notsri, Jesus Christ in Bulgakov's interpretation.

Filip's filmography is less than a theater track record, although he also starred for the first time in childhood - in 1998, the boy could be seen in the film "The Barber of Siberia" as the governor's son. After that, in 2011, the actor played a small role as a Russian prisoner in the film Boris Godunov. Soon he received an offer to play a striking character on the television screen - Philip was approved for the main role in the serial project "Zaitsev + 1".

In this "sitcom about love and schizophrenia" the artist played a typical "nerd", shy and awkward Sasha Zaitsev. Despite the outwardly ordinary, the hero of Philip is not as simple as we would like (first of all - to Zaitsev himself): he has a completely opposite alter ego in character - Fyodor. This role of a boorish and shameless "alpha" who does not help Sasha so much as spoils everything even more was played by Mikhail Galustyan. The role of the love interest of Zaitsev, the daughter of the oligarch Nastya, was played by Natalya Kosteneva.

His own appearance helped the actor easily transform into a shy student: with a height of 187 cm, he weighs 65 kg. Thin complexion, coupled with high growth and specific hairstyle - the perfect combination for the image of a touching and funny smart guy.

The series lasted 3 seasons, and all this time Philip had to combine shooting with work in the theater. The director of the Taganka Theater allowed the actor additional employment, and he had to justify his trust by running to rehearsals, instead of sleeping off after the shooting day.

Zaitsev's character became so popular that Philip played his role in another series - in "The Deffchonki" Sasha appears in one episode as a cameo. In addition, the artist played a cameo role as a photographer in Doctor Richter, the Russian counterpart of Doctor House.

Particularly noteworthy is the participation of Philip in the mini-series of the TV channel "Dozhd" "Sketches of Freedom" - a project filmed in the genre of fantastic dystopia.
