Fadis Ganiev

The folk singer Fadis Ganiev has a namesake and namesake - a football player who played for the Ufa team "Academy". However, the vocalist's voice cannot be confused with another. For many years Ganiev has been glorifying the beauty of his native land, and his son began to sing before he spoke.

Fadis was born in the north-west of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Bashkortostan) in 1967. Now the native village of Ganiev has 3 hundred inhabitants. In the peasant family of the Ganievs, everyone sang, and the boy was the lead singer of the school choir from an early age, and at the age of 15 he became a laureate of the republican vocal competition. However, the biography of Fadis could have developed differently: after graduating from secondary school, the young man submitted documents to the military-political school and passed a medical examination. But the party organs canceled out Ganiev's decision by imposing the resolution "music needs a guy." Even Fadis did his military service in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Volga Military District, stationed in Kuibyshev (Samara).

The young man received his professional education at the Ufa State Institute of Arts. Ganiev's mentor was Milyausha Murtazina, who brought up the singers Askar and Ildar Abdrazakov. Upon graduation, Fadis collaborated with the Sterlitamak and Ufa philharmonic societies.

Unlike the Abdrazakov brothers, Ganiev was not a bass, but a tenor, focused on the performance not of opera arias, but of Bashkir and Tatar folklore, as well as songs of modern composers. Fadis's musical business cards were the compositions “You don’t say heavy words” written by Rizvan Khakimov in the early 90s of the 20th century, and “Aһ, Yrymbur-kala”, dedicated to the Orenburg Caravanserai.

The vocalist agrees with Joseph Kobzon's aphorism “the main thing for a singer is the head”, since it is she who is responsible for vocals and facial expressions, choice of repertoire and eye contact with the audience. Ganiev does not strive to release albums and intricate videos, but gives all the best at all concerts - whether it be a performance at a rural holiday or a foreign tour.

Fadis brilliantly copes with the intricacies of Bashkir songs - vocal imitation of the sound of the kurai instrument, octave leaps of the melody, emotional richness and a specific "uzlyau" technique, which Ganiev calls "musical yoga" in an interview. Most of his works, whether it be lyrical compositions about the relationship between a man and a woman (Uftanma (“Cheer up”)) or songs about love for the motherland (“Bashkortostan”), Fadis performs in tandem with an accordion accompanist.

The singer's family life is inextricably linked with creativity. Ganiev often sings a duet with his wife, vocalist Lilia Biktimirova. The couple starred together in the public service advertisement "They are waiting for you at home" dedicated to road safety.

The daughter of his wife from marriage with the Tatar baritone Rustem Asaev - Gulnaz - Fadis has been raising her as her own since the age of 4. The girl performs with both fathers - blood and adoptive, in tandem with Ganiev she sang the song "Yanimda kyzym bulyr" ("I will have a daughter!"). The duet of Fadis and Gulnaz is ideologically reminiscent of the partnership between Vladimir and Marina Devyatovs, especially their composition "Look Back".

Until 2015, Ganiev had no blood children. With the advent of Karim's son, the singer's life took on new colors: the family moved from an apartment in the Kirovsky district of Ufa to the village of Taganay. Fadis and Lilia believe that heirs should be brought up in strictness and respect for national roots.

The singer is pleased with the growing popularity of his adopted daughter Gulnaz Asaeva. The rising star, starting a solo career under the pseudonym Jannat, sang the song “Bashkortostan” with Fadis and her younger brother: the boy confidently stood on the stage and won the hearts of the audience.
