Biography
Emily VanCamp is a Canadian film actress who is remembered by viewers for the TV series "Widower's Love" ("Everwood - City on a Hill"), which was broadcast on The WB and received rave reviews from film critics. Emily VanCamp was born on May 12, 1986 in the small town of Port Perry, which is located northeast of Toronto (Canada). The future actress grew up in a large family and was the third child of four children: Emily has three sisters (Katie, Alison and Molly).
Her father, Robert, worked as a veterinary nutritionist, and Cindy's mother ran the household. It is known that, as a child, Emily worked for her father: she delivered food to clients in her hometown and beyond. From early childhood VanCamp gravitated towards creativity, but dreamed of connecting her life with dancing. She began studying at the age of three, and when Emily was 11, the girl convinced her parents to send her to summer school in Montreal. A year later, the future actress entered the high school of ballet, located in the French-speaking province of Quebec.

Movies
Despite the fact that Emily dreamed of becoming a popular dancer, fate made its own adjustments: thanks to an accidental circumstance, VanCamp began to take an interest in the vast expanses of the film industry. It all started back in 1998: Katie VanCamp occasionally took part in Gabriella Christiani's "Ladies Room", where she worked on the same set with Molly Parker and Veronica Ferres.
Emily was inspired by her sister's work, so she began to master acting: she honed her acting art every Saturday afternoon. Soon, the girl found an agent, and her creative biography was replenished with several commercials. VanCamp made her TV debut in a children's horror series à la Tales from the Crypt - Are You Afraid of the Dark? (2000). The girl's character was not remembered by the viewer, because the silent heroine Emily was present in only one episodic scene.
Emily played supporting roles for a long time: she played in the films "The First Lady" (2000), "They Can't Get You" (2001) and several TV series. But real luck overtook the girl in 2002: VanCamp began acting in the drama series "Widower's Love", which was broadcast for four years. The plot of this multi-part film revolves around the picturesque town of Everwood, Colorado, where the unusual New York family of Brown moves.
The protagonist Andrew Brown (Treat Williams), a doctor by profession, lost his wife in a car accident, so he is trying to start life from scratch in a new place. But a quiet place does not welcome a non-resident: the chief doctor starts a war against Brown. As Andrew is now raising his children alone, he has to deal with typical teenage problems. In this series, Emily played the role of Amy Abbott, Ephrum Brown's lover.
In 2004, VanCamp starred in the thriller Double Agent by Marek Kanevsk. Her colleagues on the set were Sharon Stone, Rupert Everett, Michael Cochrane and other movie stars. A year later, Emily appeared in the short film Calls, which is a prequel to the second part of the film.
The plot is based on the fact that a mystical videotape that kills people after seven days from the moment of viewing, fans appear and organize a secret club. Young guys and girls watch the ill-fated video and share their impressions, but they are unaware that they are playing with death.
Further, in 2005, Emily plays in the chilling sequel "Call 2". It is noteworthy that this film has significant differences from the Japanese original, so the viewer saw a new and original story about the gloomy "girl from the well".
In addition to VanCamp, the roles were played by Naomi Watts, David Dorfman, Simon Baker, Kelly Stables and other actors. Two years later, Emily took part in Brad Gann's drama The Black Irish, where she worked with Michael Angarano and Brendan Gleason.
In 2008, VanCamp again took part in a horror film, this time in the film "Carriers", which tells about a deadly virus that condemns people to painful death. In 2010, Emily starred in the comedy Norman. The plot is based on a high school student who pretends to be a cancer patient for his own benefit. While the young man is playing to the audience, his father is indeed terminally ill.
In 2011, the actress tried herself in the role of a young teacher Stacy Bess in Jeff Blackner's film Behind the Blackboard. Stacy is not an ordinary teacher: she teaches homeless and problem children. Keeping the dream that all students deserve a decent education, the girl overcomes her own fears and superstitions every day.
The filmography of the girl was also supplemented by the superhero film by Anthony and Joe Russo "The First Avenger: The Other War" (2014), where Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson and other world stars acted as Emily's colleagues. In this film, Emily got the role of Sharon Carter, who is also known by her pseudonym Agent 13. A fragile girl (the actress is 173 cm tall and weighs 56 kg) is a martial arts master and knows all types of firearms. In addition, Sharon is fluent in espionage and computer programming skills.

Personal life
In her free time, Emily loves to chat with friends and travel: on her Instagram page, the girl often uploads photos from her vacation on the beach. VanCamp also actively uses Twitter and loves to cook and visit various restaurants. Emily admitted that she gets rid of the stress that accumulates during acting through meditation. The girl also admitted that she does not like radical experiments with her appearance, for example, she would never get a tattoo for herself.
As for love relationships, VanCamp has been dating actor Joshua Bowman since 2012. They played together in an American soap opera with elements of a psychological thriller called Revenge. From the very beginning of their relationship, the Internet was filled with rumors about the imminent wedding of lovers. It is also known that Emily had previously met with Joseph Morgan, but the young people soon broke up.
