Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks studied theater at the American Conservatory Theater's Advanced Trainig Program. She graduated from school in 1998, when she also starred in her first film, Surrender Dorothy, by Kevin DiNovis.


In 2000, she got a small role in the remake of Shaft with Samuel L. Jackson, but it was alongside Tobey Maguire that she would experience her first successes, since she played Betty Brant in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and finds him the following year on the bill of Pur Sang, the legend of Seabiscuit. The actress also gradually moved on to directing, first with a short film, then with the sketch comedy My Movie Project, in which she played a role. In 2012, Elizabeth Banks starred in two cartoons, the girly comedy The Hit Girls and Hunger Games, the adaptation of Suzanne Collins' dystopian novel.
