After filming, there was a crack in the relationship between Oleg and Elena, which, most likely, led to prolonged depression.

On August 23, 1997, Elena Mayorova decided to rinse her throat with kerosene to improve her voice. Drops of flammable substance hit the chiffon dress. Leaving the entrance of the house to smoke, the actress carelessly threw a match, which caused the fabric to burn. Unable to put out the fire on her own, Elena rushed into the street.
