After leaving school, Dubrovskaya submitted documents to the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, but from the first time the examination committee did not let the girl through. According to the official version, the future actress was rejected due to the too academic performance of the song, but Elena herself is sure that she did not pass because of her short stature and dense figure (now, with a height of 158 cm, the actress's weight reaches 60 kg). Theatrical teachers advised the applicant to apply to the conservatory, but the dean of the vocal department of the music university, on the contrary, suggested that the girl seek admission to the acting course.
