Elena's biography developed as standard for a child from a sports family. The future figure skater was born in May 1963. Father German Nikolaevich is a footballer, retired from professional sports due to injury. Mom Zinaida Mikhailovna is a gymnast, she taught physical education at school. The four-year-old girl was brought to the rink by her grandmother, the director of a Moscow restaurant, who thought that walking aimlessly in the yard was a waste of time.

Two years later, the coach advised to send the child to the CSKA figure skating section. However, Lena was not accepted due to her inadequacy. In the year of the end of her career, Vodorezova performed at the Olympic Games in Sarajevo.
