However, on May 11, Evgeni Plushenko denied information about Yegor's transition to him. According to the skater, who ended his sports career in 2017 due to the consequences of an injury, neither Rukhin himself nor his representatives approached him with a request to take under his wing.

Soon, Yegor clarified the situation, saying that he would not train with Plushenko, but in the Central Sports Club of the Army with Elena Buyanova and Marina Selitskaya. The young athlete thanked Eteri Georgievna and Sergey Dudakov, who also worked with him at Team Tutberidze, for their mentoring.

The maiden name of the coach Elena Germanovna, to which Rukhin moved, is Vodorezova. Even as a child (at the age of 12), the athlete participated in the Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Elena Vodorezova is a 5-time winner of the Soviet Union Figure Skating Championships. Now the champion traditions of Elena Germanovna are continued by her students. Buyanova coached Maria Butyrskaya, Adelina Sotnikova and Maxim Kovtun.
