Edik started with local competitions and “Ski tracks of Russia”, gradually getting excited and achieving his first successes. And then I got the idea to try myself in biathlon. This sport was not only in his native Kamyshl, but also in Samara, however, after seeing the success of the golden generation of Russian biathletes on TV, the boy caught fire with a new dream. Ivan Tcherezov, Dmitry Yaroshenko and especially Maxim Chudov became an example and inspiration for him.

Miracles was from Ufa, and this determined Latypov's path. Parents sent their son to the capital of Bashkiria, where he decided to try himself and ended up in the republican team. Valery Mishingin became the first coach in biathlon, who brought the guy to the level of the junior national team of Russia. Having first entered international competitions at the age of 19, Eduard returned from his debut World Championship with an offensive “wooden medal” in the relay. On a personal level, I managed to climb to the 18th position.

Eduard considers communication with fans an obligatory part of an athlete's life, therefore he never refuses interviews and autograph sessions, even after difficult races.

The biathlete leads Instagram, where he posts photos that shed light on his personal life: in April 2018, Latypov announced that he had married. The athlete's chosen one was Daria, a fitness instructor from Samara. As a representative of CSKA, the biathlete traveled to the World War Games in 2017, from where he returned triumphant, winning a 20-kilometer patrol race. He participated in the European Championships and the Winter Universiades, with the greatest success in 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. There, Eduard won gold in the sprint, silver in the individual race and bronze in the pursuit.

For the first time, the guy was included in the main Russian national team in 2018. His debut took place on December 6 in Slovenian Pokljuka and turned out to be a failure: Latypov ended up in 99th place. This became an anti-record, since the representatives of the Russian national team have never dipped so low. The failure was explained by the fact that at the start the skis were brought to the athlete with a delay of 30 seconds, which did not allow him to collect himself and show a decent result.

Edward got into the national team at a time when Russian biathlon began to forget about glorious victories. The triumphs of Oberhof in 2019 began to fade against the background of the fact that athletes for several stages in a row did not get on the podiums of the World Cup, not to mention the first places. In a January 2020 interview, Latypov admitted that he is giving all his best and does not understand what is the reason for the failures that follow the team.
