Dylan Kwabena Mills (rapper's real name) was born on 18 September 1984 in London, the heart of the UK. His Nigerian father died when Dizzee Rascal was less than two years old. One of the tragedies touched the personal life of Dizzee Rascal: in February 2008, the model Kai Buske, whom the musician had been dating for 2 years, died in a car accident on the M1 highway connecting London with Yorkshire. Since then, the Briton has never entered into a serious relationship, at least in those that the tabloids would know about.

Dizzee Rascal himself has repeatedly found himself in dangerous situations. One of them happened in July 2003 in the Cypriot resort of Ayia Napa: the rapper was in the hospital and survived the operation after being stabbed in the chest four times.

They managed to leave, and the gang, having stumbled upon Dizzee Rascal, gave rise to anger: outwardly, the rappers are very similar, judging by the photographs. Wiley felt guilty, so he took responsibility for the attack on his former friend.

In 2010, Dizzee Rascal, known for his love of drugs and alcohol, promised The Independent never to return to bad habits. However, less than a few months later, the rapper said in an interview with GQ magazine:

At the age of 16, Dizzee Rascal recorded the debut song I Luv U. That would have been the end if not for Nick Cage, the rapper's manager and mentor. He mentioned in an interview that he found Dizzee Rascal sitting on a garbage can in a London ghetto. The teenager kept staring at one point - he was "high". But Nick Cage knew it was a defensive reaction.

The music that Dizzee Rascal composed was not like what the manager had heard before. It turned out that before him was grime - a genre characteristic of Great Britain at the intersection of garage and raggamuffin, characterized by futuristic sounds and high-speed rhythmic rap.

Nick Cage did not change the direction of Dizzee Rascal, on the contrary - he pushed. This is how the debut album Boy in da Corner (2003) appeared. Unexpectedly for the performer, he burst into the top 40 in the UK and brought the Mercury Prize. Boy in da Corner reached the top on Planet Sound and was named one of the 50 Best Albums of the Year by Rolling Stone magazine.

Showtime's "Solo" (2004) eclipsed its predecessor by peaking at # 8 on the UK charts.

In the wake of success, Dizzee Rascal was invited to Band Aid 20 - the group of musicians who recorded Do They Know It's Christmas? for charity. The Briton became the first performer who dared to "update" this immortal song with rap.

The next album Maths + English (2007) claimed the Mercury Prize but lost. The release, however, went off with a bang: Dizzee Rascal reached a record 7th line in the UK charts.

After the album Tongue n 'Cheek (2009), the rapper went outside the UK: he toured with American hitmakers like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, agreed to unusual collaborations.
