Dylan Baker

Dylan Baker, the son of a lawyer couple, was raised near Lynchburg, Virginia. Nothing intended him to be a comedian when he entered Southern Methodist University to become a lawyer. But he is passionate about the dramatic art by participating in many theatrical productions at the university. He made his debut on Broadway in Not About heroes in 1986, the year he also made his first television debut with the New York District series, to which he continues to be faithful (16 seasons). He hit the big screen in 1987, with a small role offered by John Hughes in A Ticket for Two.

His film debut was marked by appearances in blockbuster films, such as Michael Mann's The Last of the Mohicans (1992), or in 1994 alongside Demi Moore and Michael Douglas in Harassment. In 1997, his role as a pedophile father in Todd Solondz's Happiness was acclaimed by the public and the critics. His performance won the Best Actor Award from the National Board of Review , which he shared with Lara Flynn Boyle and Philip Seymour Hoffman. A year later, he married actress Becky Ann Baker: the couple appeared together in Woody Allen's Celebrity (1998). A prolific actor, he is often called upon to interpret heterogeneous roles: doctor in the disturbing Requiem for a Dream (2000), profilerin The Mask of the Spider alongside Morgan Freeman, US Secretary of State in Thirteen Days ... On the sidelines of the big screen, Dylan Baker continues to share his career between boards and television, to which he remains faithful. He thus appears regularly in series, sometimes for an episode; such as Les Experts, New York 911 or even FBI: missing.

His presence in mainstream films does not prevent him from participating in more intimate and courageous projects, like The Laramie Project, which traces the atrocious story of the murder of a young homosexual student in Laramie, in the State of Wyoming in the United States. In 2004, he radically changed the register again: Sam Raimi called on him to play the physics teacher of Tobey Maguire in the planetary success Spider-Man 2, before taking on this role once again for the needs of Spider- Man 3.
