Biography
Dmitry Shevchenko once said that if it were not for the cinema, he would have become a “tough businessman”, possibly an oligarch. After "For the birth of Bourgeois" fame fell upon the performer of the role of Arturchik. People from the environment of the artist's mother, who do not know that Dmitry is her son, believe that Lieutenant Colonel Pryanikov played brilliantly in Major.
To believe that Shevchenko's role is completely scoundrels, according to the actor himself, is wrong. It's just that pictures with such characters turned out brighter and were remembered by the audience. And it's more interesting to play negative characters, if only because in life you will never allow yourself what you do on the set.
fact
Childhood and youth
Dmitry was born in the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa on June 17, 1964. The father of the future actor worked as an economist, and his mother once studied ballet, then left this hobby and entered the philology department. When little Dima was 3 years old, his parents separated. The boy stayed with his mother, but spent a lot of time with his father.
Shevchenko's love for the theater appeared in childhood. Dmitry attended performances with his mother, who had many friends in the acting environment. Mom tried to instill in her son a sense of beauty, because he grew up as a rather hooligan boy, the absence of a strong male hand in education affected. Despite the fact that Dmitry's behavior at school left much to be desired, Shevchenko studied well and even participated in school performances. Then the dream of becoming an artist was born.
After school Shevchenko went to study at the Odessa Polytechnic Institute. There, in parallel with his main studies at the Faculty of Economics, the young man was seriously carried away by the theater. The craving for the stage led Dmitry to the composition of the student team of KVN "Odessa gentlemen". After studying at the institute for several years, the guy did not forget about his old dream and, together with his friends from the KVN team, decided to enter LGITMiK.
To enter the Institute of Performing Arts, Dmitry had to move to Leningrad and ask permission from the Academy of Sciences, because the young man had to work for 3 years in the specialty he had already received. Shevchenko waited for the minister's reception for about 6 hours, after which he asked the official one question: "Do you need a crippled economist or a full-fledged actor more?" These words made an impression on the minister.
After 3 days, the young man successfully passed the exams at LGITMiK and ended up in the workshop of E. Padve, a student of G. Tovstonogov. Classes were not so easy: Dmitry had to knock out of himself the habits developed in KVN - mockery, antics and antics.

By 1997, Shevchenko realized that it would be impossible to combine work in the theater with filming in films. Then Dmitry decided to move to Moscow and focus on his career as a film actor. In the capital of Russia, a new period of Shevchenko's creative biography began.
Of course, few people expected a visiting theater actor in the capital. However, the artist had the experience of filming in the clips of such celebrities as Ukupnik, Kirkorov, Pugacheva, Valeria, Gazmanov. With these videos, Shevchenko went to the Max acting agency, from where they soon called back, inviting him to a casting for filming an advertisement.
After the actor was offered a role in the film "Mu-Mu" (1998). In the sensational melodrama by Yuri Grymov with the music of Vladimir Dashkevich, where the main cast included Alexander Baluev, Lyudmila Maksakova, Irina Apeksimova, Elena Korikova, Vladimir Steklov, Dmitry Shevchenko, he played the role of Stepan. In the Russian box office, the picture collected $ 20 thousand.
The popularity of Dmitry Shevchenko was brought by the role of Arthurchik's pimp in the TV series "Birthday of the Bourgeois". The image of a charming bastard was so attached to the artist that the directors offered Shevchenko such roles for a long time, and strangers on the streets recognized it, shouting: "Pimp!"
This was followed by roles in the films and TV series "Directory of Death", "Turkish March", "Stop on demand". In the action movie "A Special Case", it was about the American TV journalist Diana Jackson (Irina Malysheva), who, together with the Russian cameraman Nikolai (Dmitry Shevchenko), was captured by Chechen fighters.
A year later, the actor took part in the creation of the author's film "The End of the Century", which tells about the disagreements between Olga's daughter (Svetlana Svirko), who settled in Germany, and Marina (Irina Sokolova), a convinced sixties mother. In the film, Dmitry Shevchenko played the role of the German doctor Linder, who is trying to change the memory of an elderly woman.
In 2001, the actor appeared in the series "Family Secrets" by Elena Tsyplakova, where the main roles were played by Yuri Belyaev, Yegor Beroev, Marina Mogilevskaya, Sergei Chonishvili, Andrei Panin. In the 2002 comedy Freshman, Dmitry Shevchenko appeared before the audience in the form of an associate professor Girin, a literature teacher who could not possibly get the student Katya Kolobkova (Maria Shalaeva) to pass the exam.
Another major project of the year is Sergei Tkachev's drama The Shield of Minerva, in which Shevchenko played the role of a writer trying to keep his wife (Zhanna Epple), for which he received the Silver Pegasus award at the Moscow Pegasus Film Festival.
In 2004, the actor was invited to the main cast of the series "Poor Nastya", where Dmitry was reincarnated as the character of Karl Modestovich Schuller, the estate manager. In the film of Ukrainian production to the music of Maxim Dunaevsky "12 chairs", the actor got the role of Ilya Ilf. A colorful character, Colonel of the anti-drug unit Nechaev, performed by Shevchenko appeared in the box office action movie of the year "Shadow Boxing".
In the second half of the 2000s, the artist is involved in the projects "Death of an Empire", "Provincial Passions", "Kings of the Game". In 2009 Dmitry took part in the filming of the mystical thriller The Limit of Desires, the melodrama The Seven Wives of One Bachelor, and the medical drama Frozen.
In 2014, the actor's filmography was replenished with the crime film "Major" with Pavel Priluchny in the title role. Dmitry Shevchenko played the role of the head of the department Andrei Vasilyevich Pryanikov. In the melodrama "It Can't Be Better" Shevchenko got used to the image of a spouse who suddenly expelled his wife (Marina Konyashkina) and a child from the house.
In 2016, the premiere of the second part of the Major franchise took place. At the same time, the shooting of the crime series "Quartet" with Alexandra Bortich in the title role was completed, in which the artist played an official from the Ministry of Culture. The pilot series of the film was presented back in 2013 at the TV-3 show "To be or not to be", where the audience jury voted to continue or stop filming. For the director's idea to be realized, 75% of the votes were required.
Since then, the content and the ensemble of the picture have been adjusted. As a result, the plot revolves around a musical quartet led by the character Alexei Serebryakov. fact
Personal life
Dmitry Shevchenko is reluctant to talk about his personal life. During one of the interviews, the actor even called himself a convinced bachelor, adding that he did not regret not being married.
Once Dmitry was married, Shevchenko's wife was a dancer from the ballet Philip Kirkorov. Then Shevchenko had a relationship with actress Maria Shalaeva, who is 17 years younger than the actor. The artists met in 2000 in Yalta, where they starred in the film "Freshman". Dmitry introduced Masha to a friend, director Sergei Tkachev. He became an unwitting witness to the development of the couple's relationship and under this impression he wrote the script for the melodrama Masha especially for Shevchenko and Shalaeva.
It is noteworthy that in this picture, Maria and Dmitry played a daughter and a father. The film was included in the program of the Moscow International Film Festival, presented at the Russian Film Weeks in Canada, Paris and New York.
The civil marriage between Shevchenko and Shalaeva lasted about 6 years. Family life did not work out due to long partings, because both artists often traveled around the cities. After the breakup, Dmitry Shevchenko found out about Maria's pregnancy. The actor recognized the son of Nestor who was born in 2005, but did not return to his former lover. Judging by the photo, the boy is a copy of his father.
For 4 years the artist lived with a certain Elena, whom he speaks of as a wonderful person. The union collapsed because the son refused to call the woman by her name and did not perceive strangers around at all.
Nestor does not like the profession of parents, although he already has several jobs in his personal track record. The boy honestly admitted that he prefers to be behind the camera and help as far as possible in the filming process. Maria's daughter Evdokia was born in another marriage, Nestor is happy to bring up her sister, but is against her father having children. Afraid of competition, as Dmitry joked in an interview.
Dmitry was forced to start a page on Instagram by a case when his personal agent was told that they did not know the actor Shevchenko, because they did not remember this on social networks. With a bit of sadness, the artist stated that the criteria for professional assessment have changed since his youth.
Shevchenko chooses active rest - travels by car or motorcycle, hunting for Dmitry is tantamount to murder, and fishing does not suit his temperament. He knows how, but does not like to cook. He collects clown figurines, the first was given by his ex-wife, and now there are over 100 pieces on the shelves at home.

Dmitry Shevchenko now
In the third part of the criminal drama "Major 3", released in the fall of 2018, Dmitry Shevchenko continued the line of the chief of the protagonist Sokolovsky performed by Pavel Priluchny. Now Gingerbread is playing on the side of evil, and the former “golden boy” will have to find out who is the mysterious manipulator who turned his recent colleague into an enemy.
In the melodrama Good Intentions, Shevchenko and Inga Oboldina played a happy married couple raising a daughter. The family idyll collapses at the moment when the illegally born son is discovered in the hero Dmitry. Personal troubles are added to troubles at work - the mothers of the family threaten with violence. Roles in the film also went to Ekaterina Semyonova, Alena Ivchenko, Oleg Maslennikov.
Another project in the actor's creative biography is the historical war drama Ax with Andrei Smolyakov in the title role. The film tells the story of the exploit of a former Cossack officer who lives as a hermit. With the outbreak of war, the protagonist voluntarily went to the front to fight for his homeland and freedom. However, due to his "imperfect" past, he ended up only in the economic part. Dmitry appeared in the guise of a brigade commander who accepted a soldier into his ranks.
