Dmitry Nosov's performance was one of the most impressive sights at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens. Overcoming the monstrous pain, the judoka defeated his opponent and won the bronze medal. Dmitry Yuryevich Nosov was born on April 9, 1980 in the closed town of Chita-46. The judoka's father was a military man, so the family constantly moved from one place of residence to another. When the boy was 11 years old, the Nosovs moved to Moscow. There, according to the athlete, he found his first permanent home - in the legendary Sambo-70 school. Before that, Dmitry was going to follow in his father's footsteps and devote his life to military service, however, being carried away by sports, he changed his mind.

The loads at the sports school were severe. In an interview, the judoka recalled how in the winter he ran around the building with other guys, but not along the beaten paths, but through snowdrifts, which complicated the task. Two older guys were running ahead, setting the pace, the same number - behind, not letting them lag behind. To get a sports category, the candidate had to win a number of “clean” victories in an equal fight. This strict discipline tempered Dmitry's character.

In 1995, Nosov took the first prize in his sports career - he became a silver medalist at the Russian Sambo Championship among young men. After such a successful start, it was doubly difficult to say goodbye to training and competitions for a while: in 1996, Dmitry suffered a dislocated hip. Contrary to the gloomy forecasts of doctors, the young man got to his feet and resumed sports. His main goal was to participate in the Olympics.

In 1997, Nosov returned to sports. In the 90s and 2000s, the athlete won a number of awards. The most significant of them were gold medals at the Moscow Youth SAMBO Championships (1997), the Russian Senior Youth SAMBO Championships (1998), and the Judo World Super Cup in Hamburg (2004). Also in 2004, Dmitry took part in the European Judo Championship, which took place from May 14 to 16 in Bucharest (Romania). According to the results of the competition, he became the bronze medalist.

Dmitry's old dream came true in 2004, when he competed at the XXVIII Summer Olympics in Athens. In the semifinals, the young man received a serious hand injury. Doctors diagnosed a tear of the ligaments and a rupture of the capsule of the elbow joint, but, despite the pain, the judoka did not refuse to participate in the final fight for bronze. An hour after the injury, Nosov went to fight Mehman Azizov.

The fight turned out to be tense: in the first minutes the judoka did not commit any active actions, for which he even received a reprimand from the judges. Nosov managed to seize the lead in the 3rd minute of the battle, when he carried out a side coup on a waza-ari.

Despite severe pain in his arm and blood flooding his face (the athlete's eyebrow was cut in the fight), Dmitry managed to hold out to the end. Ultimately, he won a bronze medal in the up to 81 kg weight category.

In 2006, the judoka completed his performances in big sports. Since 2009, he has been at the head of the Dmitry Nosov School of Martial Arts, in which the world of martial arts is presented in all its diversity. According to the founder, the philosophy of the school is to strengthen the spirit of students, help them become more self-confident, develop character and discipline, and teach them how to manage their body and emotions.

After completing his sports career, Nosov decided to start a new chapter in his biography and try himself in politics. On December 4, 2011, he was elected to the State Duma on the list of the LDPR party from the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In the State Duma, Dmitry initiated the creation of an inter-factional group, the main goal of which was the fight against lobbying in socially significant bills. Together with like-minded people from other factions, Nosov managed to achieve amendments to the "anti-tobacco law", as well as the introduction of fines for its violation.

The athlete is a supporter of a healthy lifestyle. He founded the Anti-Dealer movement, whose goal is to eradicate drug trafficking in the Russian Federation. In 2015, on the initiative of Nosov, she checked 7 articles of Wikipedia, which, according to the judoka, contained information prohibited in the Russian Federation. As a result of the check, 4 articles were added to the Unified Register of Banned Sites.

In 2016, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky said that Nosov's candidacy would not be nominated to the State Duma in the near future. Dmitry was going to participate in the primaries of "United Russia", but was refused because of his membership in the Liberal Democratic Party. On June 20, 2016, the judoka was finally expelled from the faction. His attempt to nominate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was not crowned with success: according to the results of voting in the Divnogorsk single-mandate district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Nosov took 2nd place, leaving United Russia leader Viktor Zubarev behind.

The first wife of a judoka was a girl named Maria. Nosov lived with her for a long time. In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, he admitted that he considers his relationship with his wife "almost perfect." Currently, Nosov is a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
