Dmitry Barkov, who played the modest and serious Vasya Petrov in the children's musical comedy of Soviet times, did not become a professional actor. After school, Barkov and Trukhin decided to enter the Institute of Culture together. Both applicants failed the acting exam. Then the cheerful friends entered the Leningrad Theater Institute, only in different faculties. Barkov graduated from economics, and Trukhin - from acting.

According to Dmitry's stories, he submitted documents to the acting department. Until recently, I could not decide on a specialty and took exams at both faculties. By the time when the last stage of the competition remained at the theater, the enrollment was already in progress at the economic one. Not daring to take the risk, the student remained on the list of enrolled future economists.

The actor played his first and main role at the age of 10 in the musical comedy for children "The Adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin, Ordinary and Incredible" directed by Vladimir Alenikov. After the resounding success of the film, there was a continuation of the story about two cheerful friends - "Vacations of Petrov and Vasechkin, ordinary and incredible."

The partners on the set were Barkov's school friend Yegor Druzhinin, who played the role of the dreamer Petya Vasechkin, and Inga Ilm, who played Masha Startseva on the screen, a girl with whom the heroes of the comedy are in love.

By the way, Barkov got to the shooting thanks to Egor, who suggested that the director invite his classmate friend to the site. Alenikov liked that the boys were friends in real life and they practically did not have to play.

Barkov more than once with a smile recalled that the work on the film was fun and interesting, although the young actors sometimes had to work for 12 hours, which became a difficult test. But the mischievous people found a lot of time for entertainment - shooting with a slingshot at lanterns, testing the strength of fire extinguishers and even exploding pyrotechnics.

After filming the film that made Dmitry famous, the actor did not receive invitations to new roles. Barkov lived the ordinary life of a Leningrad schoolboy. Over time, already in adulthood, the paths with friends on the site parted. With Druzhinin and Ilm it is possible to see each other rarely, but warm memories do not leave friends.

In an interview with Eg.ru, the actor complained about the unfair attitude towards the former wards of director Alenikov. Dmitry recalled that after the release of the picture about Petrov and Vasechkin, the guys went to festivals and creative meetings, which no one paid for the children.

In 2006, the director had the idea to shoot a sequel to the film about already matured Soviet schoolchildren and about the love triangle between them. The plot, according to the actors, turned out to be frankly stupid and weak, they unanimously refused to take part in such a project.

Barkov appeared in episodes of Russian TV series. You can see Dmitry on the screen in single episodes of the crime epics "Streets of Broken Lanterns", "National Security Agent", "Cop Wars". But these episodes are more an accident and an exception than the pursuit of acting popularity and career.

Dmitry was married to a former classmate of Anastasia. The actor recalls that he fell in love with his future wife at the school disco during a slow dance. Returning home, the student felt that tears welling up in his eyes from the surging feelings. Barkov remembered such a strong feeling of falling in love for the rest of his life.

Anastasia responded to the young ardent admirer in return, and after graduation, the young people lived together for eight years. The parents insisted on a formal marriage, and the couple eventually gave up. They arranged a celebration with a limousine, a crowd of guests, rings and a banquet. As a result, the newlyweds received a marriage certificate, and after a couple of years they separated.

The wife gave Barkov a daughter, Masha. Dmitry notices that he named the girl not in honor of that same Masha Startseva, but simply because he loved this name.

An economist by training, Barkov tried his hand at entrepreneurship. After working on a music channel, he became a financial consultant, and then became interested in the automotive business.

However, the actor's vein and creative nature pulled Dmitry into the field of cinema. Own children's film school became the dream of the uncomplicated artist. Applying the accumulated experience, an economist with the ability of an actor brought the idea to life.

Now Dmitry is a teacher and producer of the Kinoostrov children's school in St. Petersburg. Young talents study acting, the secrets of editing and work of a videographer, the basics of directing.
