Biography
Before directing feature films, Diane Bertrand cut her teeth on numerous documentaries and short films, notably with 25 December 58, 10:36, which received the audience's prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival in 1991 and the César for best short- footage in 1992.
Diane Bertrand signed her first film in 1996 with Un Samedi sur la Terre, an experiential film, based on a puzzle story that encourages the viewer to reconstruct the action. A few years later, all in sensuality and unspoken, she directed L'Annulaire, with Olga Kurylenko, the adaptation of a novel by Yoko Ogawa which tackles themes such as power or fetishism. In 2008, Baby Blues was released, with Karin Viard and Stefano Accorsi. With this film, the director completely breaks with the style of her previous works and embarks on sentimental comedy on the subject of the midlife crisis in a woman who must choose between her career or her desire for a child.
