Dennis Lehane

American writer Dennis Lehane became famous for writing crime novels, which later became popular, and even made films for some. His bibliography contains many non-serial detective stories, as well as thrillers that come out in cycles. Their relationship soon grew into love, and Angela became the wife of Dennis, and later gave her husband two children - Raffaella and Andrea.

Dennis now writes in the genre of detective and thriller and admits that his work was influenced by the literature of Robert Patrick.

The first book "A Sip Before Battle" later became part of the most famous series about Patrick Kenzie and Angie Gennaro. In 1996, this list was supplemented by the book "Give me your hand, darkness", and a year later - "Shrine". He then wrote the novels Goodbye Baby, Goodbye, Waiting for the Rain, Moonlit Mile and Red Eye for the series. The latter was created in collaboration with Michael Connelly.

Not only this cycle was remembered by the readers, his books about Koglins, including the works "The Day Will Come", "Night is My Home" and "The Gone World", turned out to be no less exciting. Lehane is also famous for non-serial works, based on which the directors made films. In 2003, the film adaptation of Dennis's novel "The Mysterious River" took place, and in 2010, director Martin Scorsese presented the audience with the film "Island of the Damned" based on the work of the same name by the writer.

Although Lehane doesn't release books too often, that doesn't mean the man has retired. Now he lives in 2 cities - sometimes in Boston, sometimes in St. Petersburg, in the latter he works as a teacher at Eckerd College. At the same time, the author wrote the scripts for three episodes of the TV series "Simple", and then began developing a television show about Boston in the 1970s.

In the summer of 2019, Dennis began writing the script for Colt, an English-language Western based on an idea from Sergio Leone. The film was directed by Stefano Sollima, known for the films "Gommora" and "Assassin - 2: Against All". He calls Lehane the best American writer, separately emphasizing his ability to work out in detail the heroes of his works. By the way, the film will be produced by the children of Dennis Raffaell and Andrea and their company Leone Film Group. Filming is scheduled for late 2020.
