I have come across various articles about the benefits and harms of both cold showers and hot showers. I even read about contrast showers, you can look on the internet for information if you are not familiar with this practice. Personally, I don't like cold water, I just can't take a bath like that. I last at most 2-3 minutes if I don't have enough hot water. In fact, as far as I know, the idea of the whole thing is not to bathe in cold water all the time, but only for a few minutes. If so, I practice it every time I don't take a bath first. Interestingly, some of the benefits of a cold shower are also the benefits of a hot shower. Hot water relaxes the muscles - this has been tested. I have also read that hot showers also reduce anxiety. I don't like bathing in cold water, this in no way relaxes me or takes me out of depression. On the contrary, it makes me very nervous. I can only say one huge plus and that is that cold showers definitely fall asleep better than coffee in the morning.

There are benefits, yes. I bathe mostly with cold water, but there is a huge difference between a cold shower and a cold bath - a cold shower is safer. With a cold bath you are at risk of hypothermia. The cold shower is difficult to take at first, but over time you get used to the low temperature. Otherwise, the most positive result of using cold showers is that you develop strong mental discipline. It is not easy to take such a shower at any time of the day, and this tendency is transferred to other areas of life - especially those where you face challenges. You become more stubborn, and it is harder to give up on achieving your goals. All this takes time, yes. But most of the stories about the cold shower have a good base in reality.
