Claudie Fritsch-Mantro was born on December 25, 1952 in the French city of Paris. After the family broke up, she could not establish her personal life and was not married, but after 50 years she met a new love named Titi. Contrary to popular misconception, the performer does not have a son; her colleague, Antoine Auresh, is often mistaken for him.

The first steps on stage were not successful for Claudie. At first she played in the bands of her friends - Duo-Bipoux and Kramer, but already in 1984 she met Jean-Michel Riva, who became her producer. This is how the Air group appeared, in which the girl became the soloist. But the first singles - Cherchez amour fou and Qui peut savoir - were not successful. Then the star decided to take a new pseudonym Desireless and continue her journey as an independent artist.

Soon another Claudie appeared on the scene - cold and detached, with signs of androgyny. The singer dressed in men's suits and wore her hair in the form of combed up, protruding hair, reminiscent of porcupine needles. The artist thought of this image herself, but otherwise she had to obey the producers.

Already in 1986, the whole world sounded the song Voyage, voyage, which topped the music charts in Germany, Austria, Spain and Norway. Later, a remix appeared, which entered the top 10 in the UK and became a disco hit.

Desireless's next track, John, came out in 1988 and was equally successful. The song turned out to be somewhat sad and full of meaning. In it, the performer questions the reasons that lead to the start of the war. The composition was popular in Finland, Spain and Russia.

Soon the star's debut album was released, entitled François. During this period, the singer's singles received international recognition and were regularly broadcast on the radio, but her personality remained a mystery, even not everyone knew the name, because the producers tried to surround Claudie with a secret in order to stir up interest. The artist herself did not like this, because she wanted to be closer to the fans, which ultimately led to the termination of cooperation.

In the late 1980s, the star suddenly disappeared from the scene and did not remind of herself for almost 5 years. But in 1994 she unexpectedly returned with a new album, I Love You, which has a more lyrical and gentle sound than the previous tracks. Almost all the compositions for the disc Desireless wrote herself.

Along with the change in the repertoire, there were also changes in style. With age, not a trace remained of the former hairstyle, for some time the artist went bald at all, and then grew a short hedgehog. And the strict men's suits were replaced by colorful tunics. Not everyone appreciated the new image, but Claudie herself was happy and decided to continue moving in the chosen direction.

She undertook an acoustic tour with guitarist Michel Gentiles and then released a live album, Un brin de paille. The star's next achievement was the creation of her own dance show, La Vie Est Belle, which premiered in Estonia. The program was warmly received in Europe, including in the native Paris of the star.
