The desire for originality, the search for new creative facets, the desire to go beyond one genre - all this is about the duet "Chayan Famali". Its members Andrey and Arthur are not afraid of experiments, their music is a bold mix of hip-hop and other musical styles. Having started their careers in their native Naberezhnye Chelny, the guys gradually reached the all-Russian level, and now they are known far beyond Tatarstan.

Duet “Chayan Famali” appeared in Naberezhnye Chelny, the hometown of Andrey Voron and Artur Chayanov. It was these guys who became the founders and permanent members of the team. Arthur has been engaged in creativity since childhood: he went to a music school, learned the basics of vocal and solfeggio.

Andrey, in turn, admits that in music he is a random person. At first, the young man was seriously fond of dancing, but during his studies at the university he discovered rap. Just a few weeks after getting to know the genre, Raven began recording his own tracks.

The rappers met in 2004. At that time, both of them were part of other hip-hop groups: Andrey collaborated with “Big Race”, Arthur, performing under the pseudonym AG, with “PS”. The teams met in the studio to record a joint disc called “16 Voices - Attack of the Scorpions”.

Young people, interested in each other's creativity, began to communicate, and a little later they decided to experiment with the tracks: they added new fragments to the songs already written. They liked the result and decided to record an album.

Initially, the composition of the group was larger, but later some members went on a solo voyage, others cooled off to the project. Only the backbone, consisting of two people, Arthur and Andrey, did not change. In 2007, the team finally turned into a duet, which was named after the "Scorpions" - one of the city's gangs. At the same time, the “name” of the duet reflects the national flavor, because in translation from Tatar “chayan” means “scorpion”.

The guys consider their trademark feature to be a mixture of different musical genres - from rap to dancehall. Chayan Famali says their music is for the dance floor. At the dawn of their creative biography, young people performed in clubs in the region, developed as MCs, sent demos to famous artists, and many of them responded with interest to the offer to collaborate.

In 2008, the disc “IDEAFIX” was released, in which Diana Telia, Jaskaz, M. Sai and other performers took part. In 2011 the double album “Music is now legal” was released, which included 28 tracks and 4 bonuses. He also has enough creative collaborations - with Nappy Paco, the Pizza group, Dj Prosha.

Sometimes the duet acted as an opening act for other artists, for example, for the Kasta group. There the guys met the rapper Vladi, the head of the Respect Production label. Not really counting on success, Andrey and Arthur sent him their musical material. In response, we heard an offer to meet in person and discuss the contract. So in 2012 "Chayan Famali" became artists of an independent record label.

According to the musicians, there are still more advantages to such cooperation than disadvantages, especially when the artist and the label are linked by a common goal. In an interview, Andrey and Arthur admitted that they want to popularize dancehall - the musical genre that underlies their style.

The first release of “Chayan Famali” on Respect Production was the mini-album “Fitil” (2013) - this is how the mark “feat.” Is called in musical slang. (“Fit”), indicating that a guest artist has taken part in the song recording. The disc, consisting of 7 tracks, was conceived even before the start of work with Respect. Together with the members of the duet, artists Vladi, Zmey, Smokey Mo and others worked on it.

Then it was time for a full-length album. In 2013, the guys released "Flame" - a disc on which there is not a single "fit", all 18 compositions are performed by Andrey Voron and Artur Chayanov. In addition to recording songs, the musicians came to grips with clips - only in 2013, 8 videos were released. Several of them were directed by Ruslan Pelykh. In 2015, the duo went on tour to Kazakhstan. There, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, they took part in the Aktau Open Fest, an event that organizers describe as “an annual celebration of music and sports”. "Chayan Famali" performed at the closing ceremony of the festival.

On October 7, 2016 the Millionaire album was released. In it, the performers moved away from the dancehall sound, explaining that they wanted to make the disc a ballad. Some of the songs included in “Millionaire” (“Taste of the Lips” and “Over the Ocean”) have been waiting in the wings since 2011. Speaking about the album, Arthur noticed that some of the listeners were disappointed with the new, unusual sound. However, the musician emphasized that he likes to discover new facets in his work.
