Creativity and musical style of the duet "Tea for Two" did not differ in originality and intricacy. The guys sang simple and understandable songs for everyone. The soloists won hearts with boundless charm and visual appeal. They also knew how to create unique colorful shows; they learned this skill from famous Russian pop stars.

Before combining creativity and accumulated musical experience, Denis Klyaver and Stanislav Kostyushkin lived their own lives. Behind Denis's shoulders is a music school and three years of school. Mussorgsky. And also the army, where the young man played the trumpet in a soldier's orchestra.

Stas from Odessa came to Leningrad in the late 80s, entered the conservatory, which he graduated from. The guys met at the Zazerkalye musical theater. Together they began to create songs - one wrote music, the other wrote words. The biography of the duet "Tea for Two" started with the light hand of the popular actor and TV presenter Ilya Oleinikov, Klyaver's father. Once Ilya Lvovich, hearing the heir singing with a friend, advised to create a duet. Klyaver recalls:

The tandem turned out to be harmonious: two guys of athletic build, but completely different types, perfectly complemented each other. Kostyushkin is smooth-shaven, polished, and Klyaver has invariable facial hair. So the guys went in the same lineup from 1994 until the very collapse of the group.

The first producer was Kostyushkin's old friend Sergei Kuryokhin. In addition to the soloists, there were other musicians in the group: Evgeny Kulikov (guitar), Alexey Leonov (keys), Dmitry Zaitsev (drums). Kirill Stepurko was in charge of the bass, Alexander Kosilov played the saxophone, and Konstantin Likhovid played the trumpet. It also included a staff of dancers, among whom Kostyushkin's wife shone.

At first, the duet did not have a name, although it was planned to give the name "Pilot" - in honor of the first song. They were in no hurry to make a decision until they received an invitation from composer Viktor Reznikov to take part in his music competition. The director of the competition came up with a name for the newly-minted group, for whom the "Pilots" seemed too simple, without a twist.

For the first time, young performers came out to the public at the end of 1994. The children were hosted by the St. Petersburg Youth Palace. But the real ascent to the musical Olympus began with the Yalta-Moscow-Transit competition, which was shown on ORT. Young people found themselves side by side with the stars of show business and did not lose face. The jury and the audience liked the performance.

The talented musicians were lucky. Mikhail Shufutinsky drew attention to the duet, inviting him on tour, where Kostyushkin and Klyaver earned their first serious money. They disposed of finances wisely - they released their debut video.

Laima Vaikule also liked the guys at the Yalta-Moscow-Transit competition. Later, the artist offered the aspiring singers cooperation, which they, of course, could not refuse. We spent two years under the wing of Laima, famous for her ability to create chic bright shows. The “disciples” diligently adopted the experience of their mentor, and then each concert of “Tea for Two” turned into an exciting performance.

The singers have approached the new millennium with four albums. Some of the songs managed to become real hits, which debuted on radio stations in 2000. Fans listened to the singles "Bird cherry", "Fellow traveler", "Don't cry".

Grandiose concerts of the duet took place in Russian cities. The guys met the new century in the company of producers from the "Centrum" company - they shot a video for the song "Farewell Dawn" with them, and then staged a solo theatrical show "Kino" in St. Petersburg.

We had been preparing for this performance for two months, they even refused part of the planned tour. The stylish costumes and sets are impressive. The exact reasons for the collapse remained a mystery. They said that the soloists quarreled over fees, did not find a common language in the formation of the tour schedule. Allegedly, Stas and Denis became cramped in one team, something had to be changed. The friends themselves did not comment on the speculation.

After parting, the guys went their separate ways. Denis Klyaver went on a solo voyage. Stas Kostyushkin went into experiments, deciding to play with arrangements of songs popular in the 30s and 40s.

The Shulman Band project failed - critics and music lovers did not appreciate the idea. Then the musician created a new project called "A-Dessa". Stas recorded and sang the song "Fire" himself, which was warmly received by the fans and became a hit. Soon he recorded his first solo album "Not like everyone else."
