Hello! I am an 18-year-old girl and have been wearing braces for 1 year. My orthodontist is not the most comprehensive in terms of information about my treatment (I live in a small town and have no choice). Everything was going well, but after 6 months of putting them on me, black spots started to appear on my teeth at the roots. It's around every tooth! I try to clean them well, wash them several times a day depending on the time I have, use floss, interdental brush, mouthwash and basically everything I know is used for this purpose. I am very worried that this will not remain so after the removal of the braces, I am about to have a ball, and it really worries me, as every girl and I are vain and I care about my appearance. In addition, I want to say that I drink coffee and tea with a straw so that it does not touch the teeth, I do not drink carbonated or other beverages other than water and I do not smoke. Please, if anyone has had a similar problem or is competent, share their advice and opinion. Thanks!

Just ask your orthodontist what these spots are due to and insist on an answer. I do not have such a problem, it is individual for everyone. If you really maintain the oral hygiene you have described, it should not be due to this unless you clean properly. If you do not know how to use a floss properly, for example, you can ask your orthodontist to show you and share your concern with him.
