Bestselling postmodern author Bernard Werber claims he wants to be a writer again in his next life. During his lyceum years, Verber was a member of the editorial office of the Euphoria newspaper and began writing scripts for comics, one of which eventually grew into the novel Ants. Then the young man entered the university of his hometown, but studied poorly and failed the first session. He wrote detective stories, the plots of which he found while attending the sessions of the Toulouse courts. In 1980, with a friend, he drove from New York to Los Angeles, during the trip, friends survived a robbery.

In 1982, Bernard transferred to Paris at the High School of Journalists, and in 1983 he received the Best Young Reporter award for a series of articles on ants living in Africa. Behind him, the writer has courses in forensic science and screenwriting, as well as 7 years of experience as a scientific columnist for the magazine Le Nouvel Observateur, from where in 1990 Bernard was fired after a conflict with the leadership.

Werber's first novel was published in the year the Soviet Union collapsed. Since the beginning of his biography, Bernard spends 4.5 hours at his desk every day. As a result, every year his bibliography is updated with a new book. Besides France, Verber's novels are most popular in Russia and South Korea, which the author explains by the relative youth of democracies in these countries (one of the main themes of Verber's books is the unacceptability of any dictatorship).
