The head of the family dreamed of seeing the younger heir to a classical musician - conductor or pianist. At the age of 5, Baigali was already sitting at the piano. The musician jokingly calls that period "musical hard labor". He had to sit at the instrument for several hours, while his peers danced the ball in the yard.

Parents were busy with work, so Almas was involved in raising his brother. He helped him master musical disciplines. But he did not want to follow in the footsteps of his father and brother. At some point, interest in football began to outweigh music lessons. In the 7th grade, together with a classmate, also a violinist, he enrolls in a sports school and attends training. The elder brother could not stand aside and said to Baigali:

Almas has always been and still remains the authority of the younger Serkebayev, and then he could disobey. So I had to go back to my instrument and continue my hours of study every day.

Baigali entered the Kurmangazy Almaty Conservatory in piano. The teacher Aida Petrovna Isakova managed to interest him in music. The musician calls the feeling that arose then real love and insight.

After graduating from the conservatory, Baigali begins to study modern music and becomes a member of the Arai group, which works with Kazakhstani singer Roza Rymbaeva. It turned out that almost all the musicians from the previous line-up left. Roza Kuanyshevna invited 24-year-old Serkebaev to lead the team. During this period saxophonist Batyrkhan Shukenov came to work in “Arai”, and Vladimir Mikloshich came to play bass.

The group was famous for playing in the jazz-rock style and in 1983 became a laureate of the VIII All-Union Contest of Variety Artists in Moscow. Together with Rosa Rymbayeva, "Arai" releases three discs.

In 1987, Baigali with the musicians decided to go free swimming. This is how the group "Almaty" appears. After the release of the first album, the collective changes its name to "Almata Studio". The group performs new wave and funk music, experiments with Kazakh folk songs. The song "Julia" becomes a lottery ticket for the guys in their biography. Philip Kirkorov heard her and was even going to perform, telling everyone that the composition was presented to him. But Alla Pugacheva authoritatively stated that such songs are not given, and invited Almaty residents to Moscow.

After that, the group changed its name to the familiar A'Studio for everyone and successfully launched into the world of Russian show business. Star life spun around with numerous interviews, filming clips, participation in concerts.

Baigali Serkebaev calls A'Studio the main project of his life. In 2018, the team celebrated its 30th anniversary of creative activity. The line-up of the group changed over time, but the music that was typical for the "studio" remained. The songs performed by Batyrkhan Shukenov still remain in the A'Studio repertoire.
