Biography
Born in Barcelona, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey grew up in Paris. The death of her father when she was a teenager opened her eyes: she decided to give up her scientific studies to devote herself to her passion, comedy. She made her debut in 2007 in the detective series Sur le fil and the same year participated in the historical TV movie Divine Émilie.
Things go quickly for the young actress since the following year, after the Franco-Catalan television co-production Elles et Moi, she plays her first role in the cinema in Un barrage contre le Pacifique. This adaptation of the eponymous novel by Marguerite Duras allows her to play opposite confirmed actors like Gaspard Ulliel and Isabelle Huppert. She shows the extent of her acting by illustrating herself both in comedy with The First Star (2009), which in the process wins the Grand Prix du jury and the Prix du public at the Festival de l'Alpe d'Huez 2009- and in historical productions such as the TV movie The Dead Queen (2009) and the Spanish feature film Bruc. 2011 is an important year in his career. She plays The Well-Digger's Daughter in Daniel Auteuil's first production, who, in addition to directing her, plays her father in this remake of Marcel Pagnol's film.
